  1. I'm trying to find a match so I can set my hair on fire.
  2. I've been reading TD since it consolodated into one Fansite. I read this almost every day. Some years I've commented. Some years, not so much. I recently moved to the central valley of CA. Loved Rod Carew. Otherwise it has varied from year to year.
  3. Sometimes we forget that baseball is a team sport and Sano is just part of the team, for better or worse.
  4. A lot of players have trouble when they first enter a higher league. Then they work hard, learn to relax and let their natural talent take over.
  5. Littell gone. Garver back. Who will go when Cruz returns? My guess is Arraez
  6. For the first time this year, I didn't get nervous when they handed the ball over to the bullpen. I took a break, got some coffee, chatted with my wife and when I got back, things were OK. It was then that I realized that I wasn't worried. Good game. Good Bullpen.
  7. In the beginning... Sano had plate discipline and hit singles and got opposite field hits. Now, not so much. I won't seriously worry until he has logged 250 at bats or more.
  8. Forget them both. Roll with what we got or can obtain in trades.
  9. I checked transactions. Littell is still with us.
  10. absolutely send Littell back. Let him and another RP shuffle back & forth from Rochester. If Arraez keeps hitting, put the most banged-up player on the 10-day DL and keep shuffling until Arraez stops hitting or you run out of banged up players. (Which I doubt would ever happen.)
  11. I still wish it was Austin instead of Cron. I still see how Austin is being misused by the Giants. *sigh*
  12. It seems like it exposes the pitchers aren't as ready as we thought they were. It also may indicate that the hitters have more power than their stats show.
  13. We know these pitchers. We like some of these pitchers. We just don't know when we like these pitchers. I hope none of them have to get called up and Rochester has a terrific year. That way we don't have to go fishing for relievers on the open market.
  14. I don't know whether this report saddens me or gives me hope? Oh well, it's only baseball.
  15. Hicks was a lazy person when he played ball for the Twins. One can only hope that his injuries are real and he's not just milking them. (In case you didn't notice, I didn't like him when he was here. I was glad he left. And I don't care about any good fortune he may have had once he left.)
  16. When you have a system loaded with prospects, you have to let some go. We lose some, we win with most.
  17. If Sano is wise he would NEVER read anything written about him.
  18. I'd like to see some old fashion "pitch to contact" with some quick outs. These 10 pitch at bats will wear out any pitching staff before the summer gets here.
  19. Any 38 year old needs more rest than they did when they were younger. Analytics will tell them when to rest Cruz
  20. My psychic powers pick 91.
  21. I was thrilled to see both Austudillo & Austin make the roster. Austin should share 1b equally with Cron. Cruz doesn't have to play everyday. Cave should get lots of time in the OF. Austudillo and Gonzales can be played around the field. Schoop can give up a day to each of them. It can be done where all of them are in the lineup 4 or 5 days of the week until someone else gets hurt. Lets pray that Baldelli can find the best place for each of them to get there times at bat.
  22. As a kid, I was shocked when the Red's traded him to Baltimore for Milt Pappas ! Milt Pappas ? He was a good pitcher and all but really, Milt Pappas ? This was the beginning of my theory "Never trade an everyday player for a pitcher". Frank Robinson was consistently great. Every Year. I consider myself lucky to have watched his career (if only on TV).
