  1. Calhoun sat on that. Good grief that was hit a ton.
  2. He was reaching with his drunk driving falacy.
  3. And a .532 thru the 1st and ,663 thru the 2nd. He's also given up just as many HR to a hitter in their 3rd PA of the game as the rest of the game combined. Which is 468 PA to 150 PA. You are extremely reaching here.
  4. It's not based on the 7th-9th. Gray has blown up in the 5th and 6th innings several times. I'm done with this argument, I supported the move and if Duran shuts the door here, it will be the right move. Hell if MAT didn't lollygag getting the throw back in to start the inning, it's probably still a shutout.
  5. Isn't that what a baseball manager is suppose to do? See something that repeatedly happens and change it? Sonny Gray, almost consistently pitches well and has a late blow up inning. Everyone can watch and see that.
  6. How many time has Sonny blown a lead lately after dealing? Hint it's more than once.
  7. Damn that Kwan. Love the decision to bring in Caleb there, but he just got beat.
  8. In a 2-0 game with a rested pen, and off day tomorrow, combined with Gray's tendency to have blow up innings later in games I think it was an easy choice to go to the pen.
  9. I mean...he's not a good player, but did that groundout tell ya that? :D
  10. My eye test would tell me that he's slightly below average fielder. He has made some plays, but doesn't seem to judge the ball overly well or take amazing routes. For a bigger guy he does have surprising speed. He has also had at least 2 mental lapses on throws either resulting in errors or allowing the trailing runner to advance a base. He probably improves a bit with more experience but I don't think he will ever be anything better than average out there.
  11. Solano at 1st this year has been an adventure to say the least
  12. While I love Royce's aggressiveness, at some point he is going to have to get a little more selective with pitches. Having more career HR than walks probably isn't sustainable. His K numbers aren't bad, but a lot of his outs come from pretty weak contact on pitches he probably has no business swinging at.
  13. I also think the MLB is responsible for this issue by severely cutting back on September callups. For teams our of contention, September was a time to call up your AAA guys and give them a shot at playing time. With limiting the callups to 28, you have to be picky.
  14. I very much highly doubt it. Unless a team picks up a player, they get playing time struggle and get re-released or waived. Picking up a player only to waive him days later is going to be frowned upon and look bad. Outside of the relievers, who could certainly help a pen, who is moving the needle? And significantly at that? Giolito? In 6 starts for the Angels, he has an ERA of 6.89, a FIP of 6.82, and has given up 10 HR in 32 innings. Renfroe? He's hitting .217/.315/.362 with an OPS of .677 in 159 PA since the break. Grichuck? Since going the Angels he has hit .165/.212/.351 with an OPS of .561 in 104 PA Bader is a .239/.,275/.365 with an OPS of .640. He could add some value on defense. A lot of posts insinuate that the Angels are waiving big stars that are going to be very valuable, when every guy has struggled.....and pretty mightily. I think there is some depth to be added and I fully see why a team like the Angels would do it. I also see zero reason for the league to get involved.
  15. Have none of you guys played online OOTP leagues before? This happens with teams almost every season with some soon to be free agent vets. Everyone assumes it's only playoff hopeful teams who will be claiming as well. A savvy non contender could very well claim players and try for extensions as well.
  16. And 10 LOB for Cleveland. A showing of ineptitude today.
  17. That's a bingo for whomever called Taylor's 20th HR tonight
  18. If Royce and Wallner think they have pitches to hit, then they are going to swing the bat, they need runs.
  19. Maybe they are saving the runs til last?
  20. Just blaming the manager for everything that doesn't go right?
  21. Lol what did Rocco do? Team isn't producing.
  22. Reminds me of Chevy Chase in Vegas vacation and that blackjack dealer.
