  1. I see you waste zero time blaming Rocco.
  2. He's really had trouble putting guys away for about a month now.
  3. I mean.... this team is pretty well mixed with veterans and youth.
  4. Wallner now 2/22 against lefties this season. 4/38 for his young career.
  5. With him having 2 years and $20M on his contract, it's pretty likely he's back next year.
  6. Torkleson looking like he is going to be problem for the forseeable future.
  7. I love crooked numbers in the morning
  8. A lot of 1st inning pitches, but great recovery Kenta!
  9. I want to know who is calling pitches for Duran. Both hits off of him were 0-2 curveballs. When you have his fastball and splitter, that should NOT be your 0-2 pitch. I know he Vierling on the 0-2 curve, but why are we going there 3 times in a row? Torkelson didn't see a fastball. Splitter looking, curve swinging. Blow him away with 104!
  10. Off the top of my head I would throw out Joey Votto, Jose Altuve, Paul Goldschmidt and Freddie Freeman? Gotta be a couple vets I am forgetting about that are hanging around.
  11. My bad!! Honestly this is all you had to say. I mixed him up with one of the other lefties Detroit threw at the Twins last week. Against RHP he should be in the lineup no matter what IMO. Beyond bizarre to start Solano over at DH over him.
  12. Edit: My bad for thinking Faedo was left handed. Julien should be in the lineup! This will be an unpopular answer but: Julien is struggling at the plate. .194/.341/.194 over the last 2 weeks and he is 1 for his last 20. Against lefties this year he is slashing: .206/.206/.206. Gallo over the same time span: .250/.419/.625 (I know the 4/4 game is within that time span). I don't think anyone would argue against that Gallo is a better 1st baseman than Solano is. Polanco has never played an inning at 1st in his career, including minors. I have no doubt that Julien will get into this game, more than likely for Solano when a RHP comes out of the pen. So what it comes down is 2 AB, possibly 3 AB for Solano/Gallo against left handed pitching instead of Julien.
  13. I think we can all just hope that Jax works on that 3rd pitch as hard as he worked last offseason to add velocity. This is only his 2nd season as a full time relief pitcher. I don't think we have seen the best of Griffin Jax yet.
  14. Both should realistically finish in the Top 5 and possibly Top 3 depending on how the season plays out. I'm not sure either of them are homer take laughable. Julien likely isn't in a realistic convo from a sheer playing time difference, but Gray does have an outside shot at making a run at the award.
  15. With the amount of times we have see Gray breeze thru and then implode in a later inning, combined with a fully rested back end of the pen, it's kinda hard to fault Rocco's reasoning in this one.
  16. 9 commas in one sentence, very impressive.
  17. Plus Duran hasn't been good lately. Runs in 3 of his last 4 games. Low leverage spot to gain some confidence back. 18 pitches might make him unavailable 1 day this weekend.
  18. So Rocco is the reason they are getting shut out? That's some length gone to blame the manager for the hitters not getting it done today.
  19. Gotta give props to the Detroit defense, they have been superb all series.
  20. That thing was pounded. Can't leave a slider there. Hopefully the bats find something against the pen.
