    I think for the season you can throw the stats out. Once the sell off started it becomes spring training for next year. The pitchers seem to be left in to pitch counts. Outfielders are playing to determine if they are viable for next year

    You provide what reasoning that sets Miranda apart from any other player other than not having failure at the major league level. Nobody has proven they have an upside as the 4th outfielder better than Cave.. The shortstops at AAA have an upside? Throwing away the remainder of this season has an upside? That is logical?

    Immediate gratification is what many want. It is an ugly look. Miranda's OPS at AAA is not really any different than Rooker's, Celestino's or Cave's at AAA this year. I have not heard one bit of reasoning why one should expect anything out of Miranda when others with the same OPS this year have failed miserably on the MLB level this year

The listed free agents are getting to the point they will be past their prime with a long term deal. Look how quick so many middle infielders have dropped performance after 30. They may all be looking for that big payday but I don’t think anyone will go much more than 3 or 4 years

    Yet for all of the consternation about Arraez playing someplace, it is all how you want to look at it. Take a look at those players with 100 total AB for this year, 3b Arraez sits as the 17th best. OPS this year of the 61 players . 19th for the 71 players for LF, and 21 for the 68 at 2B. Below average number, above the median for players playing. 128 place out of the 399 players with 100 AB Arraez is the utility player. Compare him to the other who do what he does

    If the negotiations with Buxton were such they did not think they could sign him he might have been traded, The Berrios trade depends on how the prospects pan out. If Berrios is adamant about testing free agency the team can try their luck then. It could end up a real steal. The rest of the trades are something for nothing, and the prospects are free

    Maybe it is thrifty of the Twins not to have to fly a player back and forth to the minor league team. The author and editors made the game story about potential trades, I can make a joke of things, too

    If my faulty memory is correct, Bill Smith is no longer with the Twins. I think he has been gone for a decade. Falvey and or Levine did not make the Santana trade, nor the trade for Delmon, nor for Matt Capps. Any mention of players from San Diego is pure speculation

    Collective bargaining by baseball started slightly more than 50 years ago. Free agency a few years after that. The Yankees were sold 50 years ago for 10 million, now they are worth short of 6 billion. Not the 100 times more, but I think George (RIP) and Hal came out far better than the players.

    The end result of the playoffs in 2019 was the pitching of the good pitchers sucked. The Bomba squad was mostly silent. That isn't on the front office when players play good to great in the regular season and fall flat in the playoffs.

Kohl Stewart was a hot prospect along with Alex Meyer and Berrios, Thorpe, May, and Felix Jorge were well thought of, also Gonsalves, Tonkin, Eades, Fernando Romero, Melotakis and another name that escapes me also had buzz about them. I di believe Graterol was still a signed 16 year old then. Any year you want you can throw out 12 names. A couple will make it.

    How quickly people forget that last year was a short season, How quickly people forget Mazda’s career with the Dodgers. After his first year Maeda was in the bullpen by the end of the year. That is not a solid starter unless the bar is set low.
