  1. Considering that Rosario was let go for nothing and had a better career OPS as a Twin there wouldn't be much pain to let one go in a trade. The thought that a team could trade one above average outfielder for a solid controllable pitcher is the painful part. The Red Sox traded Benintendi for lottery tickets. The last controllable pitcher traded was ______________. Jake Odorizzi?
  2. The history of pick number 26 would lead me to believe that it is one expensive lottery ticket. Trammel was one. Pick 36 netted Randy Johnson of strikeout fame and Johnny Bench. May whoever they draft have a fate like the previous mentioned picks than past Twins choices of Dan Serafini, Greg Morhart and John Langerhands
  3. There are people who do not realize the rules changed in 2012 but remember the players drafted in the first round who would sign cheaply
  4. Dietrich Enns was not better than nothing. Aaron Rozak might be better than nothing. The Twins gave up nothing to get him
  5. I thought I was pretty clear in the post. How could I have stated it any simpler for you?
  6. Why? Don't the Twins have enough long relief candidates in the minors?
  7. Over the next three weeks injuries and standings will determine if there is a market for Cruz. A team like Toronto or Seattle could use him. Cruz would be easily worth it to the team if it were contending for something other than a wild card game. On the other hand, if Cruz can keep up 90% of his current production for 2 more years as a Twin, which cap does he get in Cooperstown?
  8. Alcala was not in the Twins minor league system that long. 1 full season, 1 month of another season. The trouble with Alcala is consistency. There is no trade for Alcala if he didn't have issues. Houston would have kept him if they were easily fixable. The All Star reliever was not an all star reliever with the Twins. Whatever he does in Houston has produced different results than whatever he did when with the Twins. Yes, a reliever with a 3.75 ERA would be a nice addition, which is what Pressley was as a Twin. That generally isn't an All Star. Austudillo has an ERA of 3.00. Not an All Star. Duffey, 3.58. Not an All Star. Taylor Rodgers, not an All Star. Yes the e was put in there to irritate you
  9. There is not indication that Presley would have ever resigned with the Twins. People make that assumption, but there is no truth to it. The front office still would have had to scrounge up relievers One less for 2019 as I think Presley had one more year of control left. It would be more likely he would have preformed like he did for the Twins than what he did for the Astros
  10. Yup, trading Ynoa was a bad trade. So for a bad trade the front office is horrible. Got it
  11. As the Twins sink in underperformance, it would appear those that bloggers do likewise. Carl Jung’s line was something like it is hard to think but easy to judge.
  12. Donaldson called out the cheaters and now he is the bad guy? Something is ucked up in that scenario
  13. Call ups at 22, MLB for good at 23 is a bad thing? Explain that
  14. Kepler came up from AA as a September call up. The next season he started in AAA in service time manipulation. He has been up ever since. That all happened under Antony and Ryan running the show. That has nothing to do with the current front office. His contract is generous, but fair for a solid player
  15. Nick Blackburn was a top 100 prospect. If Arraez was traded for a Nick Blackburn ceiling type player, there would be much disgust over the trade.
  16. The right deal is one that you are blown away by. That has not happened at the trade deadline for a utility player in the recent past. That hasn't happened for a 2b either. Since the team is losing and beyond the" what if they strung together a decent month of wins" type of conversation, there might as well be conversations about improbable things like a good return in trade for Arraez. I am very sure if the team threw in Thielbar that the return would be awesome
  17. I do recall he got into a little trouble being the designated “swinger” a couple of years ago at a mall. As I recall, he whiffed that time, too.
  18. Any player is and should be tradeable for the right deal. The notion that you might not get fair value back means that either your scouting department erred or your development staff erred
  19. About half the injuries were from running into walls. That is not bad luck, unless you consider having the traits that would cause someone to understand actions and consequences bad luck.....
  20. The problem is there isn't much for relievers in AAA to move the majors.
  21. Judging from how poor the results were compared to the league average for that year, the 1904 team may be the worse staff ever. The only redeeming thing about that staff is that potentially Highball Wilson was ahead of his time, He had high heat. The other notable thing is that Highball was frequently seen holding a glass that contained an amber liquid after a loss. That style of glass now bears his name, as by the end of the season he had built up quite the tolerance.
  22. Did the trades the White Sox made for their starting players a few years ago set the franchise further back? Did trading Knoblauch set the Twins back?
