  1. Rodney 9 million, Romo 5 million Colonel 6.25, Reed 16 million. The FO has spent money on relievers
  2. After rest and PT he should be fine. There was no reports of a tear like Dobnak
  3. Taylor Rogers, All Star reliever has limited upside and not an asset. Perhaps his flaw is that he is a pending free agent and over 30
  4. Greinke is not a journeyman pitcher. Any less a master of the craft of pitching Greinke would have been put to pasture. Respect the knowledge or understand the terms
  5. Try reading up on NFL draft success. Outside of QB which shows a slim success rate for starters after the first round, more is better. The thing is is that these players are nor prospects. They are what they are, which is a little less than league average pitcher This is an analytic driven FO. The numbers will tell you of likely outcomes. That is what there is the actions or inaction that you see from this front office
  6. Very poor analogy with the football draft, After a certain point you are drafting lottery tickets. The more you have, the better the odds. This is trading for league average or worse starters. Two very completely different things. You would not go with quantity. They are who they are for players. They are not going to morph into an front line starter
  7. Albers isn’t available; anymore? Any of these pitchers wouldn’t cost more than a Placios kind of player so why not. Only Houston has an excess of pitching and the Twins moved on from Odorizzi for a reason. The other 2 teams would need good reasons to trade. A low level prospect isn’t going to work even if the teams were trying to tank.
  8. A rotation for the present and future with the caveat of if healthy
  9. 10 out of the 20 of the list were pitchers. 8 of them made it to the majors..
  10. Hope springs eternal on a prospect list. 6-10 have a chance to be good.
  11. What you responded to is part of the charm of the comments section.
  12. https://www.minorleagueball.com/2015/11/5/9677606/minnesota-twins-top-20-prospects-for-2016 IDK, either you ignored a few or Buxton, Polanco and Kepler were not on somebodies list. Gordon was there, too. In the honorable mention there is Garver
  13. Cynically, if teams were not making money there would be no professional baseball
  14. There will be fans regardless. Trading Arraez will give the complainers 2 more things to complain about. One they traded him, two that player’s deficiencies.
  15. Bello, Borrego, and Gardenhire might be the only holdovers from the Ryan era. Tommy Watkins at the major league level.
  16. They cancelled the rule v for this year, next year is a long way away from worrying about ir
  17. Almora has not had a decent season in the last 4. It is more optimistic that he could bounce back to a level near adequate much less the player that was in the top 20 prospect status than the optimism of Buxton playing so much you don’t need an insurance policy.
  18. The value of the contract is such that it is a lot of money. The risk might be the never sign a Happ. That is not a bad thing
  19. Optimism in projections. 131 games would be breaking the trend
  20. Redmond was a great team player and understood the game. There is a translation problem. Redmond took a team of future batting stars and made them mediocre. Mattingly has not done any better. Redmond should not be the blueprint other than he has been gainfully employed as the bench coach for a mediocre Rockies team. Here is to hoping that Conger can make players better.
  21. I cab see that last year Martin played in CF or SS. There are people claiming that he is neither a SS or CF. Are both the Toronto and Twins organizations that clueless because there is the oft repeated postings. When was the last time thisTwins FO traded a top prospect.? Do people think that the FO is going to change how they have done business?
  22. When the title says DEBUT perhaps you should be less critical of meanings of words
  23. I hit the wrong spot on a tablet and got to a page where this article was a choice. Is the team in for another 2014? Baldeli hopes not if history does repeat itself
  24. There were 6 prospects from last year’s fangraphs top 100 that did not graduate to the major leagues. That would be a well above average number of prospects for a team. I guess that must be just natural fertilizer from the horse on the farm
  25. If John Henry were still running the team the Twins could have gotten all three for Lewis and Larnach had not the pitchers had already been traded to Detroit
