  1. Hard to argue with this premise. Larnach does have potential, but he has to start showing it. Kirilloff I think is ready in the next week or so, and Gallo has been hitting. Longer term, I admit, I don't know that I trust Wallner to be THAT GUY either. I wouldn't hate looking at the trade market for a good hitting corner outfielder at some point this season too.
  2. I don't see anyone being traded at a low point like him. But maybe he becomes the 1b/dh on this team who can occasionally fill in at 3b. I do think Kirilloff and Lewis, and maybe even Lee, are all up at some point this year. That's outside of injuries that are bound to occur, and potential trades. The group as a whole has to start finding consistent offense some how.
  3. I do think this team looks an awful lot different in August than it is currently constructed. Interesting to see how the pieces fit. It's always possible that Miranda is dealt too, but who knows. I hope he can start hitting.
  4. I still really like the potential of his bat, but he has been scuffling an awful lot to start this season. I'm starting to think that Lewis's arm and athleticism would look really great at 3b in a month or so, but I don't know what that means for Miranda. He does need to start hitting at some point, and with that hopefully chasing less pitches outside of the strike zone.
  5. But what about the analytics that came and stole my ham sandwich from the work fridge earlier today? What about THAT Brock?!?! :)
  6. Stewart has the stuff, it appears, for me to make that number 5. Short sample, but his stuff is impressive.
  7. I get that. But let's say Lopez goes 1-2-3 in the 7th (like he has for the rest of the year basically) and the Twins then hold on for the win. That could have certainly been an outcome last night, no? Would the coach's role in that outcome have been better than what happened last night?
  8. I'll echo what others have said regarding Balazovic; I'm excited to see how he looks this year. I still believe there is a good pitcher in there. :)
  9. Love this list Jamie. It's fun to read through, and the Twins will add some really good prospects to the organization this July. :) A thought for you; I really am excited about the potential of Kyle Teel. I would rank him behind Crews/Langford/Jenkins/Clark, but not a LOT behind them. And if the Twins took Teel at 5, I would be excited for his bat and his arm coming to the Twins. My question for you; let's say the Twins take Teel and is able to save (possibly) some draft allocated money. Who is someone that you would pursue to over-slot pay to get to 34 in that scenario?
  10. Ryan's velocity dipped quite a bit at the end of the 6th compared to the rest of the game. If you are assuming that he would give you another full inning, while throwing 87 mph fastballs, then I don't know what to tell you. I would argue that keeping in a tired pitcher is more stupid than not at that point. Lopez is a good pitcher, and Eloy got him for a homerun on a pitch 8 inches inside. Sometimes you just tip your cap. And, lastly, just because bringing in a reliever in a specific spot didn't work in this specific game DOES NOT MEAN that doing something different would yield a different result.
  11. Agreed here, I am not at all saying that Gallo is the perfect leadoff option. I just don't see how Kepler is the best option here in my opinion.
  12. I know Nick Nelson mentioned it in a different thread, but I have a hard time understanding why Kepler is batting in prominent spots in the lineup. It doesn't make sense to me at all. The way they are hitting, I'd prefer for Gallo to hit leadoff and Kepler 7th. Or, really, I'd prefer to have Kirilloff up and not have Kepler starting.
  13. Ober's most likely going to start on Sunday. That would be his regular turn, and so far the listed starter for Sunday is tbd.
  14. Ok, so before the trade deadline, who does everyone hope to target to help the offense?
  15. This is great! And I still can't wait for a Mahle extension! Hopefully that comes soon.
  16. Teel is having a GREAT year, and his arm is exciting. Is he someone you could see them taking at #5? I don't see him falling to #34.
  17. I have a feeling it's going to be Winder taking over the Sands role. I'm not certain what happens with Maeda, but I can't see him going to the bullpen yet. It is good to have solid depth though.
  18. Kepler is the obvious answer here, barring health.
  19. I think it's Maeda who we are talking about. Mahle's stuff is too good, barring health.
  20. I find it fascinating that Ober is 8 months older than Pablo Lopez. But yeah, hopefully he can stay healthy and hopefully he gets a shot because either he earned it (which is probable) and not because of injuries.
  21. Steal! He'll be a Twin through 2027 now. Heck of a signing!
  22. So the minor league report from yesterday (4/13) lists Connor Prielipp as the potential starter for Cedar Rapids Friday night, but then Friday night comes around and he wasn't the starter for Cedar Rapids. He also is not listed as the projected starter for tonight (Saturday) or tomorrow. Anyone have any word why?
