  1. So…sellers then? I think the most likely place they will target is BP. Even so, they won’t find enough bullpen help to win games 2-1. The offense is a disaster. A philosophical disaster that is probably only cured by firing the philosophers.
  2. The FO in four short years has managed to move problems around. From one of the best offenses/worst pitching to One of the best starting staffs/worst offenses. Is this progress? I don’t believe so. Twins should be sellers at the deadline. No disastrous trades that empty our minors for lottery ticket veterans that may/may not help. The 100% nerd approach has failed. Get some actual baseball people in the room. The past four years answers the question: What if we managed a MLB team as if this were a video game?
  3. Nonsense. Defensive WAR completely skews this list. It is completely overrated. I would bet 2/3 of Kepler’s “value” is based on defensive WAR. Having high defensive WAR at arguably the least important defensive position is a dubious distinction. Consequently, I reject your list.
  4. They (the nerds) are not going to change anything, because they don’t believe they’re doing anything wrong. Analytics are based on “ expected” outcomes. When reality doesn’t reflect that, it’s an anomaly. I don’t know how pervasive the nerds are in controlling things on the field, but the other day during an interview, Rocco was discussing Ober’s last outing. He said that Ober was doing well, but then “he had to make a couple of pitches he didn’t want to make”. It made me think: why would a pitcher make pitches he didn’t want to throw? Who is calling the game? This coupled with another article reporting that Joe Madden doesn’t set the lineups for the Mets begs the question: how much “managing” is Rocco actually doing versus it being directed by the Nerds???
  5. Yup. Six games and we should give him a 10 year contract! Certain HOFer! The people on here are hilarious.
  6. #1 has to be the homers on here. No, banishing the shift didn’t make Kepler an offensive juggernaut. No, Correa is not the best SS in MLB. (Might not even be the best SS on the Twins!). No, Miranda and Larnach are not certain HOFers. Buxton is Mauer at 1b. I won’t even go into all the FA pitchers that everyone was clamoring for the FO to sign. Almost none of them have been successful or even good.
  7. Yes Larnach is deficient in the field. Just about the entire infield is too. That’s what happens when you draft “bat first” prospects all the time. Apparently, the FO thinks the only important positions defensively are SS and some OF positions.
  8. Stop calling them “predictive stats”! They clearly aren’t. I know what I’m seeing with my own eyes. I saw Jax lose his 6th game. That’s half of the bullpen’s 12 losses. If he has options, they should be used. Also, why is Correa swinging at pitches in the dirt in the opposite batter ‘s box???
  9. Aldi’s. Sure, everything is cheaper, but it’s also “less”, isn’t it?
  10. You can’t point at Pagán without pointing at others. This: “This is the fourth game in which Emilio Pagán has lowered the Twins' win probability by at least 50% since the start of last season. All other #MNTwins relievers have combined for six such games over that time and no one else has done it more than twice.” makes no sense. Pretty sure Jax has lowered our win probability by 100% on the way to his FIVE losses! Pagán is 3-1. Overall, the BP is 6-11. I know,I know, wins and losses don’t matter, Grandpa!
  11. I just don’t see Miranda or Julian ever being good enough defensively to be a regular fielder.
  12. Miranda shouldn’t be playing in the field for the Twins. He’s an absolute butcher. So DH? You have to hit for that. I just don’t see a spot for him right now. It may change, but then there are probably better options. As was noted elsewhere, with all the certain HOFers on this club, he may find it hard to break back in.
  13. Miranda is either in a sophomore slump , or the league has simply identified his weaknesses at bat. He is an absolute butcher in the field. Needs Micky’s glove.
  14. Let’s all take a breath and come to the realization that the answer is not: Brooks Lee. It’s “Lee” NOT Robinson. He’s young, and he is probably at least a year away.
  15. Really? “I don’t think anyone truly knows the answer to the question,” the manager said. “I am enjoying the fact that I get to write his name in the lineup virtually every day right now. And at this point, I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize that, because I think that’s the most important thing.”-Rocco
  16. Rocco pretty much confirmed the other day that there are no plans to play Buxton in the field.
  17. He’s the starting CF for a reason.
  18. “Is Montreal ready to support an MLB team full time again? “. If they give Montreal an MLB team, they will next want an NHL team!😀
  19. I see the similarities. Rocco, “All Pagán systems go”! Maki, “All systems go! Then, like it’s 1975: “Ladies and gentlemen…KISS/PAGÁN”!!! Flames and explosions ensue.
  20. As discussed elsewhere, I think it had a lot more to do with Twins tinkering than fatigue. He threw way more changeups (his worst pitch) especially to right-handers. I don’t believe that was a choice he made. I assume they’re being less micromanaging this year, and his numbers have returned to last years success.
  21. I hate to answer a question with a question, but…”How long will Twins keep Buxton at DH”? How long is his contract? I said it the moment they signed him, and it’s still true now: Taylor is the starter.
  22. Sounds like Pickleball for baseball.
  23. Undefeated! 162-0! Best pitching staff in MLB!!! They’re going to win every game 2-0! Can I join the club now?
