  1. I always thought of Noah as a future bench player like Punto. someone who will carve out a career because of his defense. I am surprised that the Twins and Taylor couldn't come to an agreement. That would have been better. better defense. similar offense without giving up a prospect. but the trade is ok. If Margot's defense is slightly above average anyways and it could be with more separation from his injuries. I doubt we get the elite defense though.
  2. The Twins still have Woods-Richardson as a 7th starter and Festa as an 8th. And Dobnak could be ok for a couple of starts. He was league average in AAA with lots of Ks as a 9th starter. I expect these 3 will combine for 5-15 starts in the majors this year. Pearson Ohi is another name to watch for help this season as he was a solid AA starter last year. As far as depth goes it’s not bad. The first 2 have promise and a future and Dobnak is more of a floor type pitcher in the we feel confident he can deliver 6 innings of 4 runs or 5 innings of 3 runs baseball. We could sign Odorizzi to be spring training and 1rst month if the season depth in AAA. What helps is we have the prospects to trade for a starter if needed and available. We have the depth needed. And with the bullpen as deep as it is we also can do bullpen games or piggy back the starter with a multi inning reliever. Options abound.
  3. Lets have a deep dive discussion on the Twins payroll. It will be great! or ...... I am fine talking payroll. I don't care for the bashing of ownership too much. I also don't care what the payroll is if the Twins have a complete competitive team. They do. So, we should be wrapping up the payroll discussion for the offseason and the potential moves as well. and get ready to see how this team does this year,
  4. At 29 Correa if healthy should be primed for his best season yet. Could he hit 30 HRs? With his foot healed, could he accumulate 10 defensive runs saved? This will be a fun season to watch even at 20% off payroll.
  5. Montgomery on a 1 year 22-25 million deal if he falls to us maybe..... I wouldn't sign any of these pitchers to a longer than 1 year deal because of long term budget but if one Snell or more likely Montgomery could be had.....
  6. Since all of the revenue is in the tv contracts those contracts should have a pay for ratings value. If ratings are low they pay less if the ratings are high the revenue grows. This would solve the payroll issues I think.
  7. I think what Joe said was obvious. If you think we are signing a player for 30 million now, (now being that we now have financial commitments), you’re crazy. I think the best we could have done was. JD Martinez or Ryu. But Ryu just signed with a KBO team for 3 million give or take as part of a 4 year 12 million contract. I guess we could add Lorenzo but why. Odorizzi on a minor league deal is ideal.
  8. I see the author has been reading my comments as I’ve said this many times already in the comments.
  9. I think the author was referencing Arnold Schwarzenegger movie True Lies.
  10. I’m just waiting for the trade deadline to see what happens. Then I will be mad or not for the season overall.
  11. I think the all in fans are screaming for happened last season. The budget probably needed to go down to around the 140 million range. The potential loss of tv revenue would push payroll to 125 million. The Twins are at 123.5 and trying to add a backup OF and another depth starter. That would push us to the 130 million mark and we have budget room for a starting pitcher pickup at the deadline and an extra top 100 prospect too. So the Twins spent in line with where they should be and we have the most depth and deepest pen in the league. The only step back is less than a run per game every 5th day.
  12. More than Bellinger, Snell would be an even better fit if we can just squeeze his contract into the budget without making too many adjustments. It can work! We can do this! It would be a step up from Gray as Snell led the National League in ERA.
  13. From the list of what we have the last spot should go to either Larnarch or Martin with Miranda on the periphery. It depends on how many innings they want Castro to have in CF. I think they can live with 100-200 innings but more than that has them looking for alternatives. This is why they are still looking. I think they want to plan for 500-700 innings from a back up which is near 1/3 to 1/2 time in CF. Which is why we are still talking to Taylor about a deal or Duvall or possibly Pham.
  14. Miranda was hurt last year and is healthy this year so he probably starts off close to where he left off 2022 but has to show he can do that now but in AAA. Canterino just needs to shake off the rust. He was pretty much major league ready when he was hurt. Just needing some refinement on his control is all. Both should be up at some point this year.
  15. If Taylor is willing to sign for 6 million instead of 10 to be our 4th OF then we should meet him halfway with a 2 year deal. I think it’s the second year holding up the deal and it’s likely because of the uncertainty for TV and streaming revenue uncertainty.
  16. I would be surprised if the Twins didn't bring back Taylor at this point. But I think it would be cool if we signed another starting pitcher like Snell or Montgomery to a 1-year deal or in the more likely category Ryu if we are lucky but in reality, I am going to go with the Twins signing Taylor to be the 4th OF and Odorizzi to a minor league deal. and that will be the end of our offseason.
  17. If the Twins are doing giveaways to spruce up fan interest, I want in on it.
  18. They should also offer low cost tickets to fans attending away games. I live in Orange County 10 miles from Angels stadium and I would like a discount on my ticket to see the Twins when they are in town.
  19. They also have the 6th highest chance of winning the World Series in MLB according to them. I think this means they have a roster built to win in the playoffs. or atleast more equipped to win there then the regular season.
  20. The system appears to be well positioned to keep cranking out new players for our team which we need to stay a low cost competitive team.
  21. I think there was a starter in AA who could make the AAA staff too. Ort Pierson or is it Pierson Ort or something like that.
  22. The Twins sent scouts to Odorizzi’s showcase. He could be their next sign if he looks the part. Probably a minor league deal with opt outs. He may find better options elsewhere.
