  1. Ok, here is my prediction! Bucky plays 100 games of stellar cf this year with 40 more games as DH. Bats .280 with 40 HR and .980 OPS and scores 120 runs and win MVP. Remember, you heard it here first.
  2. It's time to trade Gordon for prospects or package him with Larnach and E-Rod for starting pitching prospect. Martin should be a better replacement for Gordon. Gordon is on his last leg with the Twins as we have way better options that are ready or will be soon. Might as well get something for him before he has to be DFA'd.
  3. I would take a chance on Bauer. He knows he has to behave. If he don't he gets cut. Super low risk at min salary. Super high rewards possible. Go for it.
  4. I think that if the Twins could trade Gordon it would have been done by now. I don't think anybody feels like Gordon could help their team. He may have to be included in a larger package. Package may also include Larnach. I had really high hopes and expectations for Larnach but I am starting to sour considering he will be 27 years old. I still think he could help a team and hit some massive homers, but I think his time with the Twins will be coming to an end soon. Martin needs to get a chance in the big leagues and I think Miranda needs another chance also when healthy. All of the above could do themselves a huge favor by going off big in spring training. Well, I guess that is why we are so interested. Let the battles begin.
  5. I agree 100%. Very difficult to make comparisons on such a small sample size. But if we're gonna play this game, I'll comp him to a combination of Boggs/Schmidt/Brett. YEAH, that's what I'll do.
  6. I hope that DeSclafani pitches lights out for two years and the Twins can't afford to keep him after '25. Then, we would have had two great seasons, and all the pissers and moaners can eat their words. I guess I just despise negativity, and we get a lot of it here.
  7. I can't say I hate the idea, but if it were up to me, i would pass. Whatever resources we have to spend should be put towards top end starting pitching. A @2 or @3 guy. We have right handed bats in the minors that I would like to give a chance. Austin, Lee, Severino. Trade Gordon for whatever you can get and open up a spot for some higher ceiling youth. I also haven't given up on Larnach and Miranda for OF/IN bench spots. If we ever get a tv contract maybe they would open the checkbook for a Montgomery.
  8. So tell us how you really feel. Do you think this was a good trade or not. Now, don't hold back. And what do you think about the 2 hole? Just playing with you man. I've read all of the 229 comments in the initial post of the trade and I think I figured out where you stand.
  9. I would prefer to give Lee the extension and trade Julien for pitching, "IF" Lee were ready now. But, that seems a little risky at this point. Maybe an extension next year would be a better option. But I do believe we still have some good trade pieces for pitching right now. Namely Kirilloff, Miranda, Larnach, Raya, Gonzalez, Farmer, Gordon, Schobel, Kepler, Not all of course, but we have alot of real talent. I would not however trade Lewis, Lee, Jenkins, or Rodriquez unless the return was for top end young SP with multiple years of control. And even then I probably wouldn't like it. Just my take.
  10. 3. Byron Buxton is healthy and ready, that should excite fans. Buxton is the most divisive Twins player since Joe Mauer(not including Miguel Sano). Fans either love him or hate him, there's no in between. He's either an All Star caliber player that makes tough plays look easy, or he's an often injured soft bum whose collecting a paycheck. Wherever you lie on that scope, know this: Byron is ready. He hasn't been this ready for a while. I asked him on Saturday while going through his autograph line when we might see him back in the field and how he's feeling, and he said "I feel great, hopefully in the field on Opening day". That is music to this fans ears. Buxton makes the lineup better. You can't teach his speed and given the Twins haven't (and likely wont) re sign Michael A Taylor, who was his backup last year, a healthy Buxton is required for a deep playoff run. I don't buy the all or nothing love/hate Buxton line. I like Buxton. And I hope he does well. I don't think I've ever hated a Twins player, and that includes Lance Lynn and Tommy Herr. That might tell you that hate is way to strong a word for me. But it's also hard to love a player who has had such a hard time staying on the field for the majority of a season. Love/hate? I don't think so. But still a good article.
  11. I I would very much like to see them re-sign MAT and trade Gordon for prospects.
  12. What a great article Mr. Hanel!! It is a rare piece of written word that tugs at my heartstrings like this article. Obviously I am a huge Mauer fan and proudly so.
  13. Most assuredly. And someone whom I have a ton of respect for.
  14. Great article Seth. I'm curious to know who from Perham he was asking about. (It wasn't me, was it?) Lol. But seriously, he sounds like a super classy guy. And he sounds like he is a great judge of character. Which is why he would he would have liked you and your writing. Keep up the good work young man. Oh, and by the way, a huge congrats to Mr. Ryan and Mr. Stelmaszek.
  15. I hope to see Bucky out there on a consistant basis. He's fast enouph with good instincts to be above average without beating his body up by running into walls and making diving catches at 20 mph. Hopefully he has learned as much. I also hope that he doesn't think he has to make up for all the lost time in one year. Just try to make good solid contact and good things will happen. He doesn't need to try to hit 40 homers, but 25 will come easy to him with just a solid approach. He is still a premier athlete when he is on the field.
  16. I agree, and with these two teams the entertainment value of a near 500 foot bomb occasionally would be a fun distraction.
  17. LOL, I just had to try. But apparently even AI is politically correct.
  18. Well, there is a very good reason they play the games. Predictions are just that. Remember, even Custer got beat by the Guardians.
  19. Great article honoring a great man. And high school coach gets a little credit for helping mold a young man into an outstanding human being. I am thrilled for Joe and can only hope that more young people take notice and follow in his footsteps. But what huge shoes to fill.
  20. Joe Mauer was TRULY a class act. Yes, just like Harmon. I have been a Twins fan since I was 5 years old in "65". I have seen some amazing baseball by my Twins as well as others. But it is hard to imagine anyone as talented AND classy as Joe. As a huge baseball fan, I want to thank you Joe for the wonderful years of outstanding effort and true love for the game. You are a REAL HOF'ER. I salute you and would love to shake your hand some day.
  21. Generally, I agree. But sometimes it may be the best that we can do. A trade that helps usually hurts also. But if we can trade a piece like Polanco I don't feel the pain so badly due to the plethora of capable 2b candidates. I think this one helps more than it hurts, and at least it's not in our division.
  22. H E DOUBLE TOOTHPICK NO!!!!!
