    Assuming France wins a roster spot and Lee wins the 2b spot, the bench looks like Vasquez, Miranda, Castro, and Bader. No room for Julien in this scenario. If Gasper comes north then Lee would also start in St. Paul. In any case I just don't see enough roster spots for both Lee and Julien. Lees' defense is far superior and I'm not convinced that Julien has even earned a roster spot at this point.

    At 19 years old, Hill is a fantastic prospect. At 6'5" as a left hander already throwing 98 mph his future could be the best prospect to ever come out of the Twins system. However, he is still just a prospect and we all know how that can turn out. This will be a "super" situation to watch for Twins fans. I really like the Twins prospects at this point. Just imagine the possibilties 3 to 4 years down the road.

    Count me in the optimistic crowd. Wallner and Larnach had decent seasons. A little progression is possible there. Bucky and Correa starting out with good health is bright spot. I look for Lewis to come back strong with good health. Lee should make positve progress. Miranda has good potential. Julien can't be as bad as last year or he won't be on the team. The starting pitching and the bullpen should be ++. Say what you want about Bader and France, but they both certainly could have average or better seasons. If not, they won't get alot of playing time. We have great depth and youth. And yes, it's spring. If you can't find some optimism at this time of year you probably didn't get to see the '87 or '91 seasons. Not alot of pre season optimism there either. Play Ball!!!!!!!

    Some simple observations. 1. 1 mile/hour (mph) = 1.466 666 666 7 foot/second 2. The longest HR in MLB history is considered to be Babe Ruth's 575 ft. in 1921. 3. 1 light year is approximately 5.88 trillion miles. 4. Ted Williams didn't cosider physics while swinging his bat? 5. Now could someone please use these observations to determine how much chocolate I should put on my ice cream?

    Julien scares me. I would love for him to get back to being an above average hitter and cut his strikeouts by about 30%, but I'm skeptical. He looks like he wants to be a homer masher, but with his eye at the plate, he should be a high contact hitter. And let the homer come naturally. Maybe he will figure it out and I hope he does, but my confidence level is low. That's why I would like to go after Mountcastle or Casas. But if we end up with what we have I am ok with that. I actually think that Miranda should get the great majority of innings but if he gets hurt or performs poorly, then I see a problem. But hey, that's the fun of watching the games. If we knew exactly what was gonna happen, well what fun would that be.

    As with all Twins prospects, i hope for the best for them. But as trade bait at this point, I don't see alot depending on his play in 2025. If he has a decent year, I would expect his best value to the Twins would be as trade bait due to the players in front of him. Good luck young man.

    I think Bader is good depth, which is what he was signed for. It's basically what most of us have been clamoring for since November. Let him play and see what he does. I'm not concerned with the money he makes, it's costing me nothing. Welcome to the team Harrison. We seem to whine too much. Go Twins.

    I totally disagree. You don't see him on your list because he played so many different positions. Which is exactly what makes him a utility player. And a very good one at that. And that is exactly why he should stay a utility player. Yet I believe he may have been overused to some degree.

    Willie Castros offensive category positions. Games played - 1st Plate Appearances - 1st AB - 1st Runs - 1st Hits - 1st Doubles - 1st Triples - 1st HR - 8th RBI - 3rd SB - 1st BB - 2nd BA - 8th OBP - 5th SLG - 9th OPS - 9th OPS+ - 9th Versatility - 1st by a long shot. His value is very high. As a super utility.

    You think it was the games at SS and CF that wore him down. How about maybe he played in 158 games total. Second most games played was Santana, the oldest guy on the team, but at 1b, probably the least demanding postion. Wanna guess who had the 3rd most games played? Manny Maggot! 4th was one of our platoon catchers, Jeffers. Castro and Santana were the only two players with more than 412 AB's. Yes, this was mostly due to the many injuries the team suffered. But is it any wonder that they fell apart at the end of the year? So now we want to move Castro to 1b, again the least demanding defensive position? So he can play what, 208 games? Actually, I think Castro could most likely handle the position defensively after "sufficient practice", but then you lose his most valuable trait which is his VERSATILITY! And he is not the classice slugger type that you would normally want at 1b. So, no is my vote. Again, go get Mountcastle.

    Yeah, sure. And Vazquez in CF and Wallner at short and Pablo should try catching. We need to see what we really have here. LOL. I'm sorry. It just seems like we come up with a lot of silly ideas that don't make a lot of sense. Need a 1B? Develope one or go buy one. 1B is a sluggers position. You don't have to have a GG'er at every position. You know they only give out one of those per spot! Go get Mountcastle.

    So let's figure Buxton gets 100 games, that leaves 62 games for Bader if he's healthy. He probably gets another 30 games in a corner. That's 92 games of plus defense. I think that makes for a good signing. If somehow we could get Mountcastle now I think it would look like a very exciting season coming up. I may be a dreamer but hey I never even dreamed that we would sign Correa so there is that.

    I would trade SWR for Casas straight up. But not Ober or Ryan. Maybe Mathews and another mid prospect.

    What might be the most popular team in the NFL right now. Even as a small to mid market team. All NFL teams have near sell outs every week. What might be the difference? Hmmm, maybe the continuous winning? Seems to me that would be the best place to start.

    Actually, I don't have a problem with the team the way it stands. With Miranda at first, Correa at SS and Lewis at third, let Lee, Julien and Keashall fight it out for 2b. Castros' best position is utility. Our OF is set. SP looks strong and BP looks good save for some LH pitching. But the depth seems fairly good also. Leave the catching alone for one more year. I see a strong run at the division title and they have as good a shot at the Super Bowl as they do the World Series. What's not to like?

    If the Twins can get Cease without trading any of Brooks Lee, Royce Lewis, Luke Keaschall, EM Rodriquez, and Walker Jenkins I would go for it. These players are the future of the Twins along with some good young starting pitchers. That being said I highly doubt that we will be trading for Cease. Just MHO.

    I am fairly high on Brooks Lee and will be expecting a full time roll and much better results over the coarse of the season. Zips is projecting some pretty low OPS+ but I fully expect higher OPS+ out of Lee than I do for Keirsey. Better ERA+ out of SWR and Festa. But hey, I am an optimist!

    Let's not forget that Berrios wanted out. We were going to lose him one way or another so the trade still looks good to me.

    I can see something working out for the Cease trade, but at the same time dumping salary seems a little far fetched. As for Arraez, total science fiction. The Twins don't want or need him. That's just not going to happen. Nor do I want it to.

    I think it is an intersting option except that my opinion of Rocco being capable of managing a bullpen is not very good. Much less trying to manage that bullpen and managing a starting staff with the way he likes to pull starters too early or too late. I have no confidence in this working especially with Rocco as the manager.

    Considering the payroll, it doesn't make any sense to me to trade any of our young and cheap players because what you are trading for is most likely going to raise the payroll not drop it. The only players that make any sense to trade are Vasquez, Paddock or Castro. I don't see us trading someone like Lee, Lewis, Wallner, Larnach, or Erod while lowering the payroll and also making the team better. And while trading Vasquez, Paddock, or Castro may lower the payroll, but making the team better at the same time seems like a very tough task. I think standing pat at this point may be the best option unless they get some unusually good offer. Which I doubt is going to happen. Maybe after ST starts and someone on another team gets injured they may get an offer. Time will tell.

    My initial reaction to the comp zone being Jaun Soto to Joey Gallo was laughter. That's quite a spread. I had to go back to see who wrote the article thinking maybe this was another Randball Stu article. Still chuckling just a little. But really, it was a fun read. Maybe we should let him reach the majors first and let him show his own capabilities because we all know that prospects are suspects until they're not. He is a top prospect at this point but let's see what he does in the bigs before judging. Or maybe he will become an outstanding flute player!

    As down as most of us seem about the current state of the Twins, I find it positively refreshing to read this article and and the positive comments. Due to our current minor leagues and especially the pending sale of the team, I am truly excited about the Twins future if not quite so much about the 25 season. But as a nearly 60 year loyal fan of our home team, I am optimistic for my hopefully 15 to 20 year remainder of Twins baseball. And @DocBauer, your comments are always appreciated and looked forward to.

    I can't really disagree with most comments, and I like the article. But my biggest concerns are with the team approach to what used to be baseball. Play sound defense, hit the cutoffs, good base running and use the bat to make contact with the ball. Strikeouts are "almost never" productive at bats. But if you put the ball in play, you may find a hole. And if you can't do most of this well, maybe talk to Manfred about changing some more rules to better adapt to your game. Hey, how bout this? Third strikeout in a row changes to a home run. Or maybe, run to second base first and if you knock the pitcher over it's worth two runs. Oh wait. Don't tell Manfred these. He might actually think these would be good ideas.
