Hey, North Tonawanda here! We were Buffalo Bison and Cleveland fans (1270 AM out of Niagara Falls). Why Twins? Geography. Kids were both in the Cities when we retired 10 yrs ago and I got out voted on Denver. Where my feet are becomes my loyalty. Go Twins.

Watched a freebee on MLB-TV. Gibby wasn't messing around like he used to. He seemed more confident on the mound.

Have the Reds-Marlins game on. Arraez playing second, (.369), and Steer and Encarnacion-Strand just hit back to back HRs. Reds booth was talking about Steer for rook of the yr. Lopez on in the 7th in relief.

I have read that in the past. The Twins have no responsibility to level with those of us who are curious. It is their business. I, however, remain a bit skeptical when 6-8 wks is normal recovery from patellar tendinitis. He had 7 months off from time of surgery to ST. Absolutely. His skeletal/muscular system is unique unto himself. The Natl Institute of health suggests that young athletes do indeed have meniscus issues: "Isolated meniscus tears are relatively common in young athletes and cause significant loss of time from athletic pursuits with meniscus repair causing greater loss than debridement. Lateral meniscus tears are more prevalent in this population." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4901664/ Do I know? Of course not. Do I believe something larger than pat. tend. is at play. Yes. We will know in time. Till then, we all speculate.

Well researched and written Cody. Absolutely. Appreciation and more playing time. Were I a prospect/rookie, I would take inspiration from rubbing elbows with a vet carrying a 92 wRC+. Farmer. Before getting hit w/a FB to the mouth, Farmer was hitting .223. He required stitches for the laceration, 4 root canals, wiring in his mouth, and lays out a month. Since that injury, Farmer has raised his BA to .247 and is fielding .985 as a super utility played at 3B, SS, LF, 1B, and 2B. Hats off.

The right knee is probably bone on bone or a minimal amount of meniscus left in there. Grab a bat, take your normal swing, and imagine pushing off with Buxton's right knee as you swing. It's the knee, not the head. The man is playing with pain.

Buxton's knee is as good as it is going to get w/o replacement surgery. Arthroscopic surgery hasn't worked. Twins are boxed in. I am sure no insurance company underwrote his salary. Twins are on the hook for eating that salary; hence the DH only. Ouch.

Good game to listen to 3 good announcers. WSox vs Cleve, Kasper/Johnson vs Tom Hamilton I forgot to mention Hamilton as a fave above. Old school voice and enthusiasm, shades of Mel Allen. Knows baseball. Homer but personality diminishes it and you know going in. Fun game. On now, 11am. Now, I need to get lunch started for kids, son-in-law, grandson, and me bride.

My only fear will be that Kirilloff gets packaged this Winter and I will have to remember how to spell his name, Rortvedt, and Hildenberger.

I heard on radio that it was Gibby's 100th win. Ben Rortvedt is back from injuries. Had game on radio and he threw out a runner attempting to swipe 2nd. Announcer said, "He got him, throwing before he even fully got up from the crouch." His slash line? No typo. Not sure how injuries are coloring it. .125 .276 .443

Well written piece. As I attend, I note the diminishing number of "Mauer - 7" t-shirts in the stands compared to 10 years ago. Time marches on, faces change in the batters box, but memories linger on. -
Had to chuckle. MLB.com has no mention of the fight on page 1. Nothing. "Kids, we don't fight." Always interesting to watch as the bullpen slowly trots in, BP catcher with guards on. Love it.

Saturday afternoon game on CBS in Western NY during the '50s. Ol' Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese. I remember him once saying "and the guy slud into 2nd." Also remember him singing a verse from "Wabash Cannonball." Try that Kris Atteberry.

I loved Steve Stone, paired with Harry on the radio. Lived in Wisconsin at the time and picked up WGN.

I miss Farm(er). I dropped Darrin Jackson a note of condolence and thanks for the broadcast when Farmer died. In his response, Jackson talked about calling games with Farmer but added how he missed Farm as a friend, from the years where they worked the booth together.
