  1. Maybe Atteberry can take a much longer break, like till end of season? I admit to turning into opponents radio dial via MLB radio whenever I have a Twins game on. Chris just drowns two of God's gifts to all performances. Silence and timing. He was phenomenal on between innings work and I marveled at what he could share in the moment's break, substantial updates and game scores. But PBP requires a different skill set.
  2. Did the scratch (and search) test to see if my ears (strictly radio listener) were accurate. Yep, 25th in fielding percentage within MLB: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2026-standard-fielding.shtml
  3. Did I miss anything over here? Oh, Tigers 5 runs and Jackson takes command of the rubber.
  4. Sorry guys, going to the Mets/Cards game. Spanish broadcast. Working on dusting off brain cells which Twins have put to sleep. Marysol Castro.... "¡Beisbollllllllllllllll"
  5. Detroit radio booth, "Boy, 2nd base is a tough position for the Twins."
  6. We have been there twice. It was a throwback for me. Baseball before big business dictated the game. Refreshing. Americana. Everyone pleasant. Small town atmosphere. Folks greet and chat. Kids on the field enthusiastic. Raw talent, not fully polished and harnessed. Reasonable prices on food. Go there.
  7. Article uses "command" several times. I suggest he has a control issue first. Once he gets that down, we can discuss "command."
  8. #8, Thou shalt not steal (grins). Mild form of surfing. Section 319/320. No probability of getting snipped at; no ushers. Sections I sit in with Vets tickets. Commanding view of home plate/batter. Love the seat. Aggressive form. Surf to Pohlad's Suite. Very low probability of being occupied, judging by the product on the field.
  9. Hope the Twins just pound Valdez. Jack his ERA up to 5.0. Ever since that stunt he pulled, crossing up his catcher, have rooted against the gent.
  10. I asked Shelton about 3 wks ago to play him every day and quit using him as a 5th hand at the poker table. It's working but don't want to see him traded. Twins always get pantsed.
  11. He caught onto scoring right away. Helped keep his head in the game. He loved the nuances and detail he was recording. Takeaways: All week I had been yammering re: BWitt Jr. 1st ball that comes to, he boots it. Grandson just looked at me... That ephus-curve ball pitched at 57mph to Clemens -- thought Clemens was going to come right out of his shoes in anticipation and restraint. I chuckled out loud. Enjoyed watching Preilupp pitch. Thought Jackson did a good job calling the game. Lewis is a mess in the batter's box. Granted, got a hit. But his fidgetiness on every pitch indicates that little, if anything, has been ironed out. 19,000 announced. My estimate during the game was 13,500 butts in the seats. Probably pretty close.
  12. Son in law bought grandson and I box seats, 3B, as a gift for Father's Day. I get to teach my grandson how to keep score. Celebrating Father's Day. early; they are headed to Greece. I get to go to Athen's Cafe on Broadway.
  13. I asked you guys if Brooks had range for SS. Most said no. As he moves to 3B, seemingly less pressure on him. Might Carryover to the stick. Go Lee. Shine, lad.
  14. Flaherty is 0-6. His FB has lost 3mph if memory serves me. I wouldn't wish Valdez on my worst enemy. Wait, send him to Rocco's Dodgers.
  15. I don't disagree. What makes for the difference beyond Rocco < Shelton?
  16. Ol' Joe Caniglione doing PBP on RSox radio. So much for last year's retirement,
  17. Winter Ball, Puerto Rican League. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liga_de_Béisbol_Profesional_Roberto_Clemente
  18. 12 cameras in every park, combine for an optical tracking system which IDs every pitch by a system of algorithms. He couldn't see it; statcast/Hawkeye system does.
  19. Abel is busy managing The Berkshire Manor Bees since Buffett retired. He's not available.
  20. OK, who has seen Culpepper at StP this year? Up until this year, he was brutal defensively at SS. Your opinion on Lee vs Culpepper at Short. Longterm, whom do you slot at Short and whom at 3B?
