  1. A lock on under. Mortgage the back 40 and sleep like a baby.
  2. One of those stories I was hoping not to read. Have to root for the fellow.
  3. Someone will grab him. Catchers are in short supply, even the marginal ones.
  4. Ramos was forced to take the Yankees emblem off his cap while serving his 3 yr hitch in Florida jails. Wardens said, "No symbols." True, no BS.
  5. Say it ain't so, Jo (se). 'Blue Jays righty José Berríos has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right elbow and will not be ready for Opening Day, manager John Schneider announced to the team’s beat (via Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet).' attributing to https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/03/jose-berrios-stress-fracture-elbow-blue-jays.html I still listen to Jay games when he pitches.
  6. I think Plouffie believes T-3 to a degree, conditioned along with Plouffie's positive optimism and the seat in the broadcast booth. In my book, Plouffie is grading this team at a C+. I am going with a 74-88.
  7. Guy has more lives than cats do. No catchers out there. Pretty soon BP catchers will be signing.
  8. Too bad he can't be a steady voice on the radio and let Plouffie take over PBP and Molitor on color. Not looking forward to another year of Gabbie and Gladden.
  9. I grew up in the 40s and 50s. The baby blues are symbolic of "nightie-nightie" in my jammies.
  10. But the signing points to the lack of potential in the pipeline,
  11. O OT: Love Plouffie but I just can stand Jomboy's voice. <Clicks off sound>.
  12. Someone help me understand the pic/graphic at the top of the article. Can't solve the puzzle any better than the Pohlad family seemingly can't solve theirs.
  13. Derek Faley traded offices...from exec suite to "The Farm ..."
  14. LOL. I looked up "Jeremy Zucker" when I wanted to find out just a bit of background on the understudy "Jeremy Zoll." How little I know. The former Haverford catcher will have to heavily lean on skipper Derek Shelton during Spring Training; TPohlad surely doesn't know the game.
  15. He asked for them in a post. Size 13 foot so there is plenty with which to work.
  16. I chose to rearrange my sock drawer and throw out the 'singles.'
  17. When I look at Tucker and now Bichette's contract, I just can't get my arms around these. $60MM/yr for Tucker $42MM/yr for Bichette Really? Man, I am getting old.
  18. I followed Willi once he moved on to Chicago. I believe the trade affected him mentally. He batted for league average while here (75% of his ABs) and dropped 70 points for the Cubs in his 25% of the season with them.' I don't have a good handle on all the defensive IF changes (holy merrygoround) so can't speak to how he fits in.
  19. Goes into effect this year. I got a chuckle out of Derek Shelton's idea on it, courtesy of the Strip. "“My early thought — I don't know if I should say this — I don't think the pitchers should ever challenge,” Twins manager Derek Shelton said at the MLB winter meetings last month. “Pitchers think everything is a strike.”
  20. I saw the title of the post and said, "Self, you have been miscalling him Ozzie Guillen all these years." Whoops.
  21. I know what you are trying to say but find it an odd way to discuss defensive limitations for a person who has ascended to MLB status.
  22. Love Joe but I don't see the sense of allowing him to pitch in WBC. Joe fades during the 2nd half of the year. He is needed for wins in early part of season. He needn't be showcased in the WBC. Any teams interested in him know his stuff already.
  23. Hell will freeze over before any of us see MLB books.
  24. Since we will never see the books, you might be right. I believe debt was created by the Pohlads merely drawing down the cash and investing elsewhere where they felt they needed to put cash to work.
  25. I am interested in the story from a business sense and on field baseball. I am surprised that owners are letting hedge funds into the club. Will be interesting to watch the business story unfold, though I have less hope/optimism for what we are going to see on the bases. Ugh...lee.
