  1. There is no way I would trade Lopes over Correa and Buxton. He plays full seasons, while Correa and Buxton play partial seasons. But there is no way anyone would trade for Correa, and at least Buxton's salary is based on playing time. In honesty, I would trade Correa for a low-A minor league to get rid of his salary. But even then, I don't think you would find any takers.
  2. Exactly! When I first saw these articles I assumed he was predicting the core players to build the next years around. Persoanlly I'd be willing to be patient and do a full Detroit style rebuild and jettison any player making 10 million a year or more for young talent. But that's just me.
  3. I wonder if Wallner or Larnach have any history at 1b .. If able to field well at first, I think Wallner is a prototypical first baseman. Big target, big bat ..
  4. Kala'i is the only one of the group I would have ever thought woukd wind up in Arizona this year ..
  5. If they hadn't signed Correa they would have an extra 36 million to spend.
  6. Agreed. I've been saying a small market team can't pay that much for a single player unless they can hit over 50 homeruns and knock in 120 runs a year, AND needs to be able to stay reasonably healthy. We've had a few great streaks from Correa but two long horrible starts to 2 seasons and missed a boatload of games. Signing him was a risk and resigning him was worse.
  7. I've got an idea. How about the players we have stay healthy the whole season? I've never seen this team have as many injuries as they've had over the last six years.
  8. I assume he had final say on trades and signing free agents.. If so he didn't have a great record to stand on.
  9. I was thinking it was time for someone to go. Actually, I was thinking someone's plural
  10. Yup, a small market team can't pay one player 36 million a year unless he hits 50 home runs and drives in 120 a year. I've been saying that ever since we signed him years. But at least Correa played really solid this year if it weren't for being out for much of the stretch drive when we needed him the most. Now, we are really in a pickle. Just think of how much we could do with a freed-up 36 million. The only way that will happen is if Correa asks for a trade.
  11. Remember that article a month or so ago claiming Rocko might be the best manager in Twins history?
  12. Thank God the Vikings are playing well. Until next season .. SKOL VIKINGS EVERYONE!!!
  13. KC and Detroit just keep earning their way into the playoffs. There is nothing we can do if they keep winning.
  14. I didn't know Budda knew anything about baseball ..
  15. We only have three solid relievers and a bunch of fillers. We better not make the playoffs because we aren't equipped to win, which is such a shame because our starters are really good. We never should have pulled Mathews on Sunday. That was over-managing.
