  1. They will be interested in whoever has had the most injuries in their career.
  2. So much of it now is having a stable of young relievers with options that you can bring up and down when injury hits or a guy has to throw too many innings in a three-day stretch. We signed a lot of relievers this summer who have no options left. I think that was a waste of effort and a good number of them will have to be released because you can't send them up and down.
  3. Very nice increase from 90.4 but not sure i would call it throwing gas ..But great news ..
  4. I agree. Taylor is a much better outfielder with more pop in his bat. Margot doesn't hit for average, limited power and doesn't have a very good on base percentage. I don't get it ..
  5. I'm sure there is a lot to like about David Fiesta; that last mile between Triple-A and the majors is a doozy. How many promising starting pitchers have we seen come up through the system only to get to the Pearly Gates and come up short, either flaming out or turned into a bullpen arm? Look at our current group .. Jax Griffin. .. bullpen Josh Winder .. bullpen Cole Sands .. Bullpen Johan Durhan =========== What are the odds Woods Richardsons will make it? As of now, although they would like Varland to be the fifth starter at some point this season, we know how much value he has as a back and reliever. Currently, we have one, count it, one starter we developed in our system on the starting five. Baily Ober .. So, is David Fiesta going to be the answer? I guess we can always hope ..
  6. I was simply saying they all have a very high on-base percentage and that's part of why Julian and Arraez are so effective. If a team had a lineup of 9 guys with an on-base percentage of .388 or higher, they would be the highest-scoring team in the league.
  7. It depends on how many at-bats he gets and his on-base percentage is ...
  8. Okay, I'll bite. I will drop my criticism of Correa and give him a chance to perform. And I'm going to hope Buxton is healthy the entire year. And both of them have 4.0 WAR's which would most likely give us a good run into the playoffs. I mean, it's a new season, and hope springs eternal, right. But if Correa has a horrible start to the season like the last two years, I will find it hard not to criticize how much we paid for him after the first quarter of the season. As for Buxton, if he gets hurt, it's par for the course and next man up. If he's healthy and doesn't produce, that's another story. Here's to an 8.0 WAR from two players .. Cheers!
  9. So, his on-base percentage is similar to Julien and Arraez. His power is closer to Arraez, but his fielding is better than both. Plus, he's a better runner on the base paths. What's not to like
  10. Nice having Camargo in reserve in case of injuries and a developmental project like Olivar in A ball .. I love the pop in Camargo's bat ..
  11. He us totally off my radar until I see him complete one full year in the minors.
  12. You guys aren't debating with Cody. You're arguing with a computer ...
  13. After Ryan pitched the best game of his career, the complete game shutout, he hurt his groin .. Then he tried to pitch through it, which was a mistake. I wonder if the extra innings and pitches in that game contributed to the groin injury. Anyway, I'm expecting the old Ryan coming out of the shoot this year ..
  14. I agree. Need to see him stay healthy for an entire season to even think about it ..
  15. What I see is depth, depth, depth. I'm guessing a team uses around 14 relievers throughout the year ..
  16. Click on Austin Martin 's name, and it says he's a relief pitcher .. :) Hoping Larnach can stay healthy and produce this year. If nothing else, it would improve his trade value. Or cover for Wallner if he has a sophomore slump.
  17. Only if he takes his meds. lol
  18. I think the off season went fine considering our spending restraints. My only worry is our fifth starter ..
