  1. I don’t see Ober as a postseason reliever. I expect him to be the fourth starter, but we only need 3 starters on the roster for the first round. I believe the roster can be reset after each round so there’s no need to include him until the next round. And I wouldn’t rule out Keuchel as a postseason reliever.
  2. I’m sure there is temptation to rush his development based on better-than-expected performance so far but I would expect cooler heads to prevail. We will know when it’s time for him to advance to the next level. Joe Mauer made it to the majors before he turned 21 but that’s a really rare accomplishment.
  3. Good job, guys. Do it again tomorrow. And the next day. Etc.
  4. It’s better to be lucky three times in the same play than good.
  5. I think pull Keuchel. His margin of error is razor thin and he was fortunate to keep the Mets at 2 runs.
  6. Both pitchers relying on batters swinging at pitches that they can’t hit.
  7. I find it’s useful to compare this to Cleveland’s magic number over us: 28.
  8. Sending him to St. Paul was not a true demotion. Everyone knew his effectiveness had faded and I think it’s nearly certain that he was fatigued. Putting him on the AAA roster is kind of like a rehab assignment without being on the IL first. If we go deep enough in the postseason we’ll need a fourth starter and he’s it. He’s getting the rest he needs so he can be ready when the time comes.
  9. Are the Twins about to become an ALC dynasty? I’m not about to jinx anything by answering that. Are the Twins more likely than the other four teams to do that? Well, yes, I think they are, at least that’s how it looks through my rose-colored glasses of optimism.
  10. That’s no excuse for horse**** umpiring. (Edited because apparently Brock hasn’t entered that word in the auto censor yet.)
  11. About another two hour delay would have been be OK. We have an off day tomorrow. The Guardians play in Anaheim tomorrow.
  12. Apparently he, like me, is not.
  13. Jinxes don’t apply only to the game itself.
  14. Looking at the radar Progressive Field may catch just a minimal trace of precipitation. Doubt the game will pause.
