  1. Alex Faedo is the nephew of former Twin Len Faedo.
  2. I'm concerned about Dick Bremer. It seems to me that he has made many small mis-speaks this season. For example, just now on the double he referred to the play at the plate.
  3. Twins fans look at the bottom of the ninth as a hitting success. Diamondback fans look at the bottom of the ninth as a pitching failure. Not sure which is more accurate.
  4. Do I trust the FO? I don't think that's the right question. To me, it's how well have Falvey and Levine done their jobs? Evaluating that would require a wide-ranging detailed analysis. While looking at trades and draft choices is certainly part of the matter, this goes far further than that. Who has been hired and how have they performed? This applies to everyone in baseball operations, from the manager and coaches to scouts to player development to clubhouse attendants. Beyond that, for lack of a better way to say it, what is the corporate culture like? Are employees treated fairly and respectfully? Does the FO create an environment in which employees want to do all they can for the betterment of the organization? How well is the organization positioned for long-term success, both on the field and as a business? I'm sure there's much more that someone who understands how large organizations function would look at. Do the same thing for every other MLB franchise. Then look at how the Twins' front office compares with the other 29 teams.
  5. Until he was injured, Morneau was playing better in 2010 than he did in 2006. And regarding Nathan, you can cherry pick all you want but he was an elite-level closer at or near the peak of his career. Moreover, had he not been injured the infamous Wilson-Ramos-for-Matt-Capps trade would not have been made. So I guess we'll have to agree to strongly disagree.
  6. Jon Miller correctly pronounces Hispanic names, so well that I wouldn't be surprised if he's fluent. Unfortunately, such is not the case with the Twins' radio analyst.
  7. Strongly concur. Maybe men will be boys. Or jerks will be jerks.
  8. I don't think this is close to being true. The extension came before the 2010 season. Picture the 2010 team if two key players--Nathan and Morneau--hadn't been lost to injury. That's a World Championship team.
  9. Who is the guy wearing number 26 and what has he done with Max Kepler?
  10. I expect that will happen in the 9th, especially if the Twins are able to scratch a run in the 8th.
  11. Tied in the middle of the 8th. This means the team that wins the game will do so in their last at-bat.
  12. Guess that DP is the make-up play for the liner Castro nabbed earlier.
  13. I guess the odds are bound to catch up eventually.
  14. So the Dbacks pitch around the rookie to get to Carlos Correa. This makes sense, which is the problem.
  15. Runner might have beat the throw from Castro if he had bothered to step on the base.
  16. Go back to the 2009/2010 off-season when this contract was negotiated. At that point in time Joe Mauer was the best baseball player in the world. Whatever it took to get him to sign was money well spent.
  17. This seems inconsistent with what I see on radar. Edit: Never mind. I misread this. Thought it said 2:30.
  18. It's raining hard right now in the western suburbs, and it looks on the radar like a bit of hard rain is approaching TF. I said this yesterday and I'll say it again: I expect them to wait as long as they need to in order to avoid a postponement. It's easier and better to get the game in today than to reschedule, even if they don't start until 9 PM.
  19. It's a final in Cleveland. CWS 7, Cle 4.👍
