  1. Rodriguez has been great as a starter for the Tigers this year, and they have a few interesting pieces, but I don't think they have the depth or talent that the Twins have. But hey, as we are seeing, injuries and lackluster performances can turn things around. Our old buddy Akil Baddoo is showing signs of life since he got called up. His batting average is slowly rising, but he's drawing lots of walks and increasing his OBP too. Okay, he's not going to challenge for an All-Star spot this year, but he's showing signs of being a solid player.
  2. Yeah, the dismal performance of SWR thus far had been very disappointing. I had high hopes that he would tear it up in AAA and earn another promotion to the show. Other than odd relief appearance earlier this season, it looks like that won't happen this year.
  3. Could end being a "perfect storm" of events that get Lewis into the lineup and keep him there, especially if Correa ends up having to go on the IL for any length of time. But at this point, put him anywhere you can get his bat into this underperforming lineup.
  4. Another fine report. Thanks, Seth! I loved seeing Keirsey stretch that blooper into a double. Very heads up play!
  5. Oops! Thanks for correcting that. For some reason I had it in my head that he won the award. He DID win 20 games last year, but obviously he didn't win the Cy Young. And it won't happen this year either due to his latest injury.
  6. If we do happen to need outfield help, the Phillies might want to part with Jack Cave!
  7. Hoping for the best for Alcala, but sounds like that's it for the season for him. Such a shame. I was hoping he could rebound this year and be an important part of the bullpen.
  8. Good debut performance with the Twins organization by Austin Brice, but looks like he's been around for a while, and not any sort of prospect. He's now 30 years old, drafted by the Marlins, and most recently with Arizona. His career stats look underwhelming, but hey, it's another body in the bullpen, and maybe there is still some untapped potential?
  9. Any updates on Gordon? From what I'm hearing, his injury might require putting him on the 60-day IL. Is this one of those long-rest sort of injuries or will he require surgery? Any updates are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. My thoughts exactly! The Twins need Lewis in the lineup ASAP.
  11. As so many others have said, THANK YOU for updating the list and giving us so much background and information on these prospects. As someone living halfway around the world, and not able to watch any games, these reports are very much appreciated!
  12. Yeah, I've noticed that MANY of the Rays players seem to be having career years thus far in the season. Hey, maybe they can sustain those numbers, but as you said, it's doubtful.
  13. I'm still shocked that Abad is still pitching in the year 2023!
  14. I've been following what Cano is doing in Baltimore and knew that he hasn't allowed a run so far this year ... but no walks also?! That's perhaps even more of an impressive stat. Good for him. But like others on this board, I sure didn't see it coming. And also as others have said, the season is still young! I'm not hoping he implodes or anything, and it would be cool to see him in the All-Star game, but I'm sure at some point in the near future he will give up a few runs!
  15. I've liked what I've seen, or rather read, about Nowlin so far this year. He strikes me as one of those sneaky good prospects that could end up being a good bullpen piece in the future. For those that have actually seen him pitch, or know more about him, what is your opinion of his chances?
  16. The ageless Rich Hill pitched a darned good game for the Pirates yesterday, giving up only 1 hit in 6 innings. And over in Atlanta, Nick Anderson pitched a scoreless inning for the win.
  17. Agreed. Plus, Gordon had been playing much better the past couple of weeks, and looking solid in CF. This one hurts.
  18. Pretty accurate assessments all the way around. Leaving the bases loaded hurts the most.
  19. Yeah, IF there is any sort of plan it's definitely not a solid one at this point. Too many cooks in the kitchen and too many other variables that can change plans quickly. But at least we will have several options, so third base won't be a position I'm going to worry about in the near future. I just don't think Miranda will be the placeholder there a year from now.
  20. De Leon? I'm surprised, but he is an interesting choice to get the call-up. I assume they will be using him mostly in the bullpen, but he's started some games in AAA this year too, plus he had that amazing start in the World Baseball tourney this past winter. Let's hope he shows some good stuff!
  21. Well, the jury is still out, but I think Lewis is going to end up looking look a good pick. Maybe not a great one, but one they won't regret. But still ... going back to that year, I was really hoping they would choose a pitcher with that pick, and I still feel that was a lost opportunity. Kyle Wright, although injured right now, won the Cy Young last year for the Braves, and I think he will be an ace for a long time. Hunter Greene is starting to look good with the Reds, and even Gore looks like a keeper. Hey, this is all hindsight stuff, but when all is said and done, I'm comfortable with having Lewis.
  22. Loved that squeeze bunt by Jeffers to score Buxton. Just shows that there are all sorts of creative ways to score runs when you need to.
  23. Totally agree with that. Like many on this board, I was a bit underwhelmed by the trade for Farmer. But man, he has shown a lot game and grit, and some timely hits. Glad to have both him and Taylor with the team!
