    Paddack seems to be the one pitcher that many people keep forgetting about. But if he comes back healthy and at full strength, I think he'll be a great addition to the rotation.

    I recall a lot of people on this board being fans of Tyler Wells a few years ago, and weren't happy when the Twins left him unprotected. And indeed, that was a bigger loss, I think, than Baddoo. Speaking of whom, there is a rather funny/painful video of Baddoo being caught stealing in yesterday's Tiger's game. Ouch!

I read that 3 times and I'm still confused. What happened, and in what order? Also, the beginning of the article said that Bechtold was placed on the temporary inactive list. Is that the same as the Development List? And what does that mean for his playing status?

    I agree, I think Gordon is more comfortable in the outfield at this point, and that will also have a positive effect on his batting. Or so I hope!

    Very interesting article! I can see the becoming a factor in some games. You wrote: ... each team is allowed three challenges to be initiated only on the field, within seconds, from the batter, pitcher, or catcher So I assume this means that the manager does not have the power to make a challenge? Or is that a separate thing altogether? If it's only up to the players, this could get messy.

    I think a lot of people were underwhelmed by Quantrill's performance. Reading Rocco's postgame comments was interesting. I definitely got the feeling that he wasn't very impressed with Quantrill, perhaps even more mystified why someone with such control issues could baffle the Twins' hitters so easily.

    Twins prospect Royce Lewis will begin a rehab assignment this week starting out at Wichita. That's the best news I've read so far this week!

    It's still very early in the season, but Rooker hasn't cooled off yet. Looks like he may end up being the sole representative for Oakland in the All-Star game.

    Very interesting article and analysis. Ober has obviously been a bright spot in the brief time he's been up this year. But this one thing that stood out for me in this article was this: Bailey Ober has pitched professionally since 2017 and has only once eclipsed the 100-inning mark in a season. Obviously, the hope is that if he's healthy he will exceed that number of innings this year. Right now, he's looking great.

    I don't know much about Pierson Ohl, but as you noted he seems to have a good idea on how to pitch. I mean, look at that line: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K I'd like to see more starters put up numbers like that!

    I'd opt for sending Larnach down for a spell and bringing up Kiriloff ... until the real next injury makes yet another move necessary.

    As always, thanks for these minor league reports. Very much appreciated! I particularly like following Ft. Myers, being an old fan of the Florida State League. I used to live in Orlando and followed the Orlando Twins when they were in the FSL, and later when they were "elevated" to become a AA club. Those were the Gardenhire/Knoblauch years! Going back even further, my grandfather was one of the early presidents of the FSL. Great memories of some cool teams back in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

    Good article, Thanks for that. I've always been intrigued by Jax and his potential, especially now that he's firmly in the bullpen. He seems like a very bright young man who has worked hard to maximize his talent. Hope he can take it to the next level.

    Hey, maybe Miami can pick up Gary Sanchez too! Go ahead and give them all of our old castoffs, and why not Miguel Sano too? On the good side of things for Miami, our old pal Arreaz is still batting over .400.

    Does this mean that Balozovic is now a starter again? And DeLeon is now a bullpen piece? Not sure what is going on, but if these guys are pitching effective innings, keep shuffling.

    I love love love Taylor's bunting prowess. More of that please! I also love Matt's description of the bunt: ...turning the game from a battle between professionals into childish chaos, as fielders dash to a base in order to do something without realizing their actions compromised the play.

    I think the decline of western civilization occurred around the time that "party" turned from a noun into a verb. I still get painful cramps as a result.

    ... and the aforementioned wild pitch, channeling a little Sam Deduno magic to avoid giving up any significant damage. Man, that was a VERY wild pitch! Jeffers had almost no chance to keep that one from getting away. But your mention of Sam Deduno made me smile! I always thought he could have been a keeper ... if he had more control!

    I think the biggest "obstacle" for Nick this year is the lack of playing time in center field, which of course is due to the presence of Taylor. Gordon seemed comfortable in center, but I think a lot less so at second base, where he is getting more of the playing time this year. I'm also a fan of Gordon and I think he will shine will regular playing time at a single position, but it's looking that will be less likely with the current Twins roster, plus players like Farmer, Lewis, and Kiriloff coming back from the IL. As others have said, Gordon is becoming more of the odd man out on the Twins this year. I could see him becoming a fan favorite in Oakland.

    Yes, Cano has looked great so far this year. But as someone else posted earlier in the week, he turns 29 this year, so he's not the hot young prospect I had assumed he was at the time of the trade. Nevertheless, I'm sure the Orioles are happy to have him in their bullpen.
