  1. Royce Lewis is playing with a lot of energy, plus it looks like he's having fun. What a combination!
  2. Hey, the way things are looking we may need Punto back in the infield before this season is over.
  3. Sad news, and he wasn't that old. I consider myself a diehard Twins fans, but I honestly have only a very vague memory of Frazier as a Twin.
  4. Baddoo has looked better this season after getting called up again by Detroit. But he hasn't played in about a week after going on the 10-day IL.
  5. I almost forgot about Raley. From out of nowhere, he's become an important piece of the Tampa Bay offense this season.
  6. Good to see the minor league teams winning some games. Also a somewhat encouraging performance by Woods-Richardson. I really hope he gets back on track and can go deeper in games.
  7. I also loved that video of the 2 runners scoring on the sac fly. Man, you said it: Keirsey can fly!
  8. If we need some extra bats, maybe we can talk Trevor Plouffe out of retirement. Hell, I'd even welcome back an overweight Miguel Sano at this point.
  9. From what Rocco said, it sounds like we are likely NOT going to see Buxton play in the outfield this year. But if he's in that bad of shape, why would you even want him running the bases? Oh yeah, I forgot: he's either striking out or hitting home runs, so running the bases isn't a factor. Okay, he DID have the single today, but still, if he's that fragile just put him on the IL and get him healthy again.
  10. Yeah, that's good for Cleveland, but then again Tampa Bay had problems beating the A's last week, so who knows?
  11. Man, that's been a few years, and even my last trip to Minneapolis was longer ago than that, so I can't help you with the dining choices. But knowing the Twin Cities, there will be MANY good places to choose from. Enjoy your trip!
  12. Man, another big day for Eddie Rosario in Atlanta. He went 3 for 6 with 2 homers and 6 RBI. I'm still not regretting we parted ways with him, but then again, having a productive bat, even one as erratic as Eddie's, in the Twins' lineup sure would be nice.
  13. Agreed and agree some more! I hate this "swing for the fences" approach too. Sure, home runs are sexy and exciting ... but so are doubles and triples and stolen bases, and bunting for a hit, and all those other sorts of plays that require putting the ball in play. I miss that type of baseball so much.
  14. Maybe not much room in AAA, but Kiersey certainly deserves a promotion. Give him a shot and see if he continues to produce like he has been doing.
  15. The bullpen game the Twins used last week seemed to work very well. Why not try it again? Something/Anything (apologies to Todd Rundgren) needs to be done to get this team going again.
  16. I concur: great article! Good to know more about these young prospects. I hope he can succeed at higher levels too. The knuckleball is ready for a comeback!
  17. or perhaps a real challenge if you are the catcher!
  18. I don't know the reason (s) for Buxton's recent drought at the plate either, but as you suggested he needs to either go on the IL or snap out of this slump ASAP. What he is offering to the team now is detrimental to winning games.
  19. Especially happy to see Salas come alive after a very slow start this year. Hope to see more hits, homers or otherwise, from him for the rest of this season.
  20. I certainly don't have any profound wisdom or suggestions to offer at this point. Do we need a new batting coach? A big roster shakeup? I don't think Rocco is the biggest problem. We just can't seem to string any hits together and score runs. Too many strikeouts. A starting staff that looked terrific the first month is now mediocre. Obviously, this teams needs to do something to get back on track, but I don't think making trades is the answer. Call up more of the youngsters and jettison some of the deadwood.
  21. Yes, consistency sure would be nice, at least consistency of the quality variety. I'm sure many of us were salivating at the prospect of facing the Tigers this weekend ... and now?
  22. I've wondered about this too. What exactly is this mysterious Development List?
  23. I'm not sure I see Kiriloff playing in the outfield at this point. I think, barring another unfortunate injury, he will be our first baseman for many years.
  24. I knew next to nothing about Solano prior to this season, but the guy seems to know how to hit. Which is more than you can say about some of the others in the starting lineup. Of course his fielding and baserunning can cause some headaches, but it sure is nice to see a player getting hits on a regular basis as opposed to striking out.
  25. Buxton is back in the lineup, but at this point you have to wonder how that is even helping.
