    Congratulations to Andrew Bechtold on his first Win as a professional. That was nice to see! Will the team try him as a two-way player going forward, or will they actual convert him to a pitcher?

    How did Ober look overall? He was one of our steadiest pitchers the past few months but his last two or three starts have been rough. Is he tired and in need of some rest? Hopefully, no injury concerns, but he needs to get back in the groove ASAP.

    Good question. I'm not sure how much more Larnach needs to do at AAA to show what he can do, But whether or not he's good enough to be a MLB regular or just AAAA player who bounces between levels is still a question mark. I'm still on the fence. Maybe he needs to learn some first base skills too.

    If he can help us get to the World Series again (granted, we actually have to win some playoff games first), that will be an even better feel-good story!

    Like probably everyone else on this board I'm delighted to Royce Lewis back in action and playing games again. And that home run was sweet too!

    Very encouraging to see a game like that from Martin. I still think he's going to turn into a good MLB player. But at which position?

    Not even a close game, so I won't grind my teeth too much about this one. Eduardo Rodriguez is having a very good season, so it's just unfortunate we had to face him. Now the team just needs to regroup, focus harder, and get a lot more hits tomorrow.

    As this article mentioned we certainly have a logjam of good/borderline players that may need to be added to the 40-man roster, or even dropped. Some hard decisions, especially with all the injuries this year. I can't make any guesses who will make the cut at this point, but it will be an interesting and/or frustrating off-season.

    Thanks for another great report Seth. Like many others, I am VERY excited about Walker Jenkins. Great to see him delivering already. I'm also looking forward to the debut of Charlee Soto. Thanks also for the analysis of Jose Salas. As you noted, we need to be patient with a young player like that. Still hopeful of big things for him too.

    Jeffers has been on fire lately, and I sure hope he continues his hot streak for the next 60 days or so!

    Sadly, I think you are right about Buxton. If he's healthy he's a definite plus in the lineup, even at DH. But something seems to be amiss with him this year.

    You are right; Shuffield doesn't seem to get much respect or prospect hype, especially considering the numbers he's been putting up at each level. He's looking like a handy player to keep around.

    For a rookie player Wallner DOES seem to have both confidence and poise. Doesn't look like he's easily rattled, such as his reaction to that called strike you mentioned. Like so many others, I'm excited about his performance so far, and his potential going forward. Needless to say, I don't think he needs any more AAA seasoning at this point!

    We sure need some more options at first base in case Kiriloff isn't able to come back soon. The ability to adequately play first may be the only reason Gallo is still on the team at this point. In addition to all the strikeouts, his previous ability to draw walks seems to have vanished, and his OBP keeps dropping.

    Some good suggestions, especially Headrick, who looked impressive during his other stints on the team. Ortega seemed like he had something to offer too. And I'm also high on the potential of Funderburk. Call him up? Okay, there may be a question of too many healthy arms at some point, but why not!

    Rortvedt will probably never be much of a hitter, but he seems to be a solid catcher. Nevertheless, it's cool to see him healthy again and playing in the big leagues, even if he's starting games for those evil Yankees.

    That's a good question, and I've always wondered how do you measure the coaching thing? Players move to a new team and all of a sudden they become lights-out pitchers, or awesome hitters. Is the change of scenery/team, better coaching, or just plain luck?

    Looking back, a week ago, it seemed like adding another arm to the bullpen was a no-brainer. With the injuries to Alcala, Stewart and DeLeon (the latter two weren't even expected to contribute at the start of the season, but they ended up being good pickups, however briefly), we are looking a bit thin for reinforcements at this point. But I can also understand not trading for some sort of rental arm and giving up a valuable prospect. Meanwhile, we wait and hope. Maybe Dobnak can be called up and perform well in relief? At this point I'm not sure what, if any, backup plan they have in case of yet another injury.

    And then there are all the strikeouts, and more strikeouts ... hey, we are leading the league in something at least. We might also mention Correa's tendency this year to hit into double plays. I think he's among the league leaders in that category too, but fact check me on that.

    That would be sweet. Hoping for a good Twins debut from Keuchel.

    Wow, so many impressive performances on the farm, a lot of highlights to enjoy. Thanks for keeping us in the loop! Great to see Austin Martin getting some hits. Show us your stuff! And Willie Joe Garry, Jr. delivers for his callup to AA. I'm impressed with this kid. I think we could end up seeing him with the Twins at some point in the future. Most likely a utility guy, but then again he could blossom into player as good as another former Twins prospect such as Lamonte Wade.

    I think Larnach can certainly hit better than Gallo at this point, but not sure about his fielding skills at that position.

    Meanwhile, over in Baltimore it looked like Twins Appreciation Day, with Gibson (another big day with 9 K's), Coulombe, and Cano combining to defeat the Mets.
