  1. No need to wonder and worry: Boston just signed Rich Hill to a minor league deal.
  2. I'd love to see Keirsey brought up and given a chance, but I'm not sure if he was the guy we needed to replace Michael A. Taylor, a player I liked a lot but seeing his struggles with the Pirates this year, I'm happy that we didn't re-sign him. As for Margot he's been okay. Not as good as I'd hoped (I like him with Tampa Bay) but not nearly as bad as some folks think he's been. Sure, we can do better, but he's stayed healthy and has looked more productive the past couple of months, it's just a shame that he can't deliver in a pinch-hitting role.
  3. Good update, but can we please please please include some details and let us know who is pictured in these photos? Seems like it was getting better for a while, but lately I see no details at all with these pics.
  4. Not only did Wallner steal a base but Carlos Santana, yes the baseball player, stole a base for the Twins too! Even more surprising to me, it was his fourth steal of the year. Who knew we had signed such a speedy veteran!
  5. Yeah, it certainly is frustrating for us fans not knowing when he will be able to return full-time, But it's most likely even more frustrating for Correa. All we can do is be patient, but I do agree that some sort of update would be appreciated.
  6. i appreciate the deeper dive into the stats and trying to show something positive, but I still don't see any sort of turnaround. But man, I hope you are seeing something that we aren't and the recent results are actually something to stoke our optimism. It would be most wonderful to have Thielbar looking like he did a few years back.
  7. Diego Castillo came on for the bottom of the ninth, trying to protect a one-run lead. He faced five batters. It went single, single, single, reach on error, walkoff single. Hmm ... so much for bullpen help down on the farm.
  8. I think Lewis is certainly deserving of a call-up at this point. And great to see Soto pitching deeper into games with positive results!
  9. Not much depth at all at this point. A month from now we may need to sign some over-the-hill pitcher like Dallas Keuchel again just to prop up the rotation. Bringing up rookie pitchers is a fun experiment, and sometimes it works, but going into a stretch run we need some better and more experienced arms, or at least some healthier ones.
  10. Turtle Fever is alive and well!
  11. Sad news. Ashbury put it best: these posts should be upbeat in nature. But hey, this is the inevitable end for all of us, so I appreciate these notices. I recall Cubbage being a good steady player back in the 70s. I had forgotten that he was part of the Blyleven trade.
  12. Once again, I need to ask: which player is that in the lead photo? The photo caption gives credit to the Wichita Wind Surge ... but who is the pitcher?
  13. A full healthy season from Royce will be wonderful. Let us keep hoping! He can be a true difference maker for this team.
  14. Good win. Pablo gave us just enough and some of the new guys in the bullpen did their job too. Hoping for a good Zebby debut outing tomorrow!
  15. Looks like I can answer my own question! I was out of town for almost a week, and just now catching up on Twins Daily, Thus, I missed the update about Topa being "pulled" from his rehab stint. Sigh,. This injury bug to our pitchers is coming at a bad time.
  16. And right after Randy finally had a good outing. Meanwhile, is Topa still rehabbing? And if so, why for so long?
  17. That 3-week break seemed to do Jaylen Nowlin a lot of good: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K That's a VERY nice outing!
  18. Honestly, never heard of the guy, but looking at his stats, he seems to have had a few decent years in the bullpen for the Cardinals, although he also seems to give up a lot of homers. I guess it's bullpen insurance if nothing else.
  19. Never-say-quit Joey! Hey, I hope he comes back and homers in every game ... along with 4 strikeouts each game too.
  20. Chris Paddack “expects to pitch again in 2024,” but has no ETA Hmm... that sentence sounds ominous. He is on the 15 day IL now, but still no idea when, or if, he will pitch this season? Sounds like someone we can't count on for the rest of the season.
  21. I was pulling for Dobnak to have a good outing or two, but I don't think he will be given that long a leash at this point. Sad, but hey, that's baseball. Time for Topa to be added.
  22. I'm not so sure. I was not fully enthusiastic about the Santana signing, but he's played better than I expected. Some timely hits and good defense. Seems like a guy we will be glad to have on the team going into the playoffs.
  23. Good article and details on Topa's arsenal. I knew nothing about him prior to the trade, but sounds like he was a good addition. At this point we can only hope that he is now fully recovered and can show us his stuff. With Stewart still ailing and Dobnak not looking very sharp, we will certainly need another effective arm in the month for the rest of the season.
  24. DeBarge off to a good start with 2 hits. This Fort Myers team should be fun to watch for the next month or so.
