Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 argh. Hawk: "Thank you, Lord." Guess he went to church this morning.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Just got home and saw this on the box score: . Plouffe walked, R. Doumit to second, J. Willingham out at home How did Willingham get out on a walk?
snepp Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Pedro Hernandez "pitched well" when he was up with the Twins. *sigh*

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Ah - thanks. I take it he probably did not break any speed records.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Ah - thanks. I take it he probably did not break any speed records. Last I saw, he was still en route.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Ball 4 was a wild pitch Woulda been, had anybody reached an extra base.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 It's something to look at, but I'm not personally a fan of teams tanking, like they do in the lesser sports, somewhat in the NFL and quite openly in the NBA. Nor of rooting for that as an effect. I am not a fan of that either, but when it comes I find that thinking of a good draft pick provides some solace.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Catches that, an outfielder does.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I just got back from picking up breakfast. I was accosted by two young women in sun dresses who wanted restaurant advice and to pet my dog. That will probably be the highlight of my day.

jorgenswest Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Willingham is a liability in the field. A liability on the bases. He will decline further next year. It is time to release him. No one would take on his contract. The Twins got one good year for the 21 million.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 sigh. not sure how much more of this i can take.

I am going to take a shot in dark and assume your wife never goes on walks with you.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 wanted restaurant advice and to pet my dog. Some kind of euphemism?
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I am going to take a shot in dark and assume your wife never goes on walks with you. Luckily she did not go on today's walk. Now my dog smells of perfume and I have a nice memory.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 crap on plouffeYup...said this the other night: I SO want to like Plouffe, but he seems determined to thwart me.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 crap on plouffe Not a good at bat.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Not a good at bat. I guess that was the nicer way to put it ... but what can I say ... I'm more expressive than tactful <G>
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'm sure Hawk is cackling up a storm about that inning. At least, we made an old man happy.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 This is meant for Glunn as he might be the only one who knows what the hell I am talking about. David Koresh is to the Branch Davidians what Bark's Lounge is to Plouffeism.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 damn it damn it damn it Now that the niceties are out of the way, what did you think of that last inning?
