  1. Ryan has been back 29 months and many of feel we can contend in 2015 and for many years thereafter. That's soon enough for me.
  2. This has been SOP for all teams. Is there a reason why you're unhappy with the FO of our favorite team?
  3. Every time I hear the words shoulder surgery, I cross the guy off the list and go to the next guy. In this case Gibson.
  4. I like Castro also. I would start with Berrios and Thorpe. King Theo is in a rebuild just like us, but their ETA is 2016. His future position talent rivals ours, but we have more starting pitching prospects.
  5. Jeremy, I like what you've done. I think next year at this time your list my be closer than most. I really like Gonsalves, but his mechanics are as raw as I can recall seeing. I can't believe he didn't take at least the JUCO route. I played against a lefty about the same size, taken in the 3rd-4th round and he was so much smoother.
  6. Jay, thanks for your response. I would have thought differently.
  7. Good job! The only thing I would add is, how the Tanaka deal plays out complicates this free agency period. No way the top tier starting pitchers will sign until that is resolved.
  8. Nick, you hit it on the head!
  9. 5 are starting pitching prospects and 5 are International signing. We may have been late to the dance a decade ago Internationally, but have more than made up for it. This is a competitive advantage for us going forward. Also, the more recent change in looking for more power arms, appears to be meeting with some success.
  10. I'm not sure. I read somewhere, where the Twins FO doesn't understand the concept of selling high. I think it's much more likely that Meyer and May just fell into their lap.
  11. King Theo is a Ryan clone. He'll want Berrios and Thorpe.
  12. The injury occurred in 2009. He has since pitched 3 strong college seasons and was at one time projected to be a top 20 pick. Maybe his strikeout #'s caused him to drop to about where BA had him slotted. A 2nd round pick is a not a 1st round pick.
  13. Ryan Eades is probably as close to a can't miss starting pitcher prospect as the Twins have. Top baseball prospect in Louisiana in 2008. Cape Cod pitcher of the year in 2011. Number 2 starter on one of the top college programs in 2012 and 2013. Both years he was behind a current or future first round draft choice. Due to a long college season and being a workhorse, he was essentially shut down after being drafted. He wasn't allowed to start and innings were limited. In comparison, Meyer never pitched an inning after being drafted. The Twins had him rated higher than any other 2nd round pick.
  14. I thought you did a good job!
  15. Outstanding!
  16. All Ryan has to do is hit on the 3 draft classes where we finally had high picks. If you want a down and dirty look on how the rebuild is going just look at Buxton, Stewart, and our top pick in 2014. There is no magical formula to drafting.
  17. That could be, or it could be after only 22 months back from semi-retirement, Ryan is admitting the rebuild isn't done, and he prefers to have a tried and proven manager to lead our beloved Twins back to past glories.
  18. I really don't care one way or the other, but it makes no sense to fire a tried and proven manager. I saw a rumor that King Theo may have Gardy and Girardi on a short list.
  19. Diamond was one of the players I was hoping would cement a place in the rotation during the open auditions, but it hasn't happened. Still feel he has a future as the next one up next season. Dozier did what I was hoping several others would, he has made a strong case to be a core member going forward. Dozier somewhat belatedly has given signs he can be a borderline All-Star and it makes no sense to me to consider moving him to SS. Fix one problem at a time and then move on to the next. There is plenty of next to go around.
  20. I have personally seen no signs of Twins fans jumping left and right off the bandwagon. Since the M & M boys are no longer available, I have noticed a decrease in a segment of the free spending, highly upwardly mobile market. With all these new young players I've been reading about, I would guess we will see an increase in attendance long before the Pohlads consider pawning their best china.
  21. I can't see Joe ever giving up catching. He is too stubborn. When we make our move, I believe Parmelee and Colabello will be long gone. I have no problem with Justin coming back on a team friendly deal. I understand RBI's no longer have any meaning, but you still need a guy who hits the ball that causes his teammates to cross the plate. There is no metric for veteran leadership. Good blog Oldgoat_MN.
  22. Great idea Shane!
