Guest USAFChief Guests Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 //end rant. Sorry, my brothers. Didn't mean to muck up a perfectly good game thread.
Alex Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Amazing how poorly Correia has been pitching. He had sustained success for a long time. Even the biggest critics couldn't have estimated him imploding this bad. I just was coming in to checkin on the game, I see there isn't much to check in on. Actually....--Just turned on the game myself and am wondering what happened to the "Looks like TR was right about Correia and you all were wrong!" threads.

I always notice it, but this is the first time I've said something
big dog Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 So Correia doesn't get through the second (I mean he gets six outs, but he sure didn't get through anything), and we make Guthrie look like a Cy Young winner yet again. Now we have to put up with Duensing again. As I've said before, I try to be optimistic, but this is just ludicrous.

It is amazing what a little juxtaposition can do.

Yeah, I was watching on delay and typed that when he came in. He was a lot better this time. I still think they should have made Correia pitch two more innings, to save the pen and to see if he could figure anything out.

big dog Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 My 79-year-old mother has been complaining about the Twins a lot this year. She keeps asking why they don't have any pitchers. I say the Twins seem to have a hard time getting good pitchers. She says the other teams don't seem to have so much of a problem. I appreciate her insight, but of course those other teams get to pitch to Thomas/Bernier/Hicks/etc. In game action, I'm really glad Pressly missed when he tried to bare-hand that ball. Nothing good was going to happen if that ball hit his hand.

GCTF Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 So what's the game plan tomorrow night when this Albers guy and his 85 mph heater can't get out of the 2nd?

NC-Twins Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 On a positive note, I will get to see the other half of our AAAA split squad in Durham on Wed/Thurs. looking forward to seeing Willingham, Mastro, Hicks, Esco, Parm, etc... for 1/3 of the price.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Better than his numbers veteran innings eater Correia now averaging fewer than 6 innings per start.

GCTF Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 If they don't score at least 7 runs this inning I quit.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 New word filter?Surely that's been used before, no? Christ, there's been one or two perfect fits every year of the Ryan era.

Thegrin Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I am seriously worried that our bullpen will collapse. Remember the year when Gardy overused Guerrier ? and Crain hadn't recovered from surgery ? August and September they couldn't get thru an inning without runs scoring. If Albers has a typical outing for a first time pitcher, they'll need to bring in Swarzak and he's pitched 3 innings on both Aug 1 and Aug 3.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Do you think the Pohlad boys are sitting at home watching this game?
