I hate watching Correia pitch. I hate his results. I hate his contract. I wish he would give me reason to like him.

Great, my wife just saw the score, it's going to be hard to convince her the game is still more important to watch than what ever reality program is currently playing on every other channel at the moment.

Amazing how poorly Correia has been pitching. He had sustained success for a long time. Even the biggest critics couldn't have estimated him imploding this bad. I just was coming in to checkin on the game, I see there isn't much to check in on.

I'm kind of bummed about that, too. Their manager's aunt and uncle have lived right down the street from my parents for almost 40 years (I spent a good part of my childhood playing baseball in their back yard) and their pitching coach is from the same town (I umpired a lot of games while he was playing - I was in the same grade as his older brother.) I hope they can have a strong finish and convince management to give them another year, but it's a rough business.

My girlfriend (not originally a baseball fan) is trying to learn more about the Twins after seeing how bizarrely I care about them. I've explained a lot to her (she knows who Sano is and understands Morneau's sad story), but I've had trouble selling her on the franchise as it currently stands. How do you explain a rebuilding phase to an entry-level fan and get someone to buy in?
