Big collapse by the White Sox in this series. 21 strikeouts in Game 5 is not a recipe for success.

It was a big Chicago collapse considering they won the first 2 games of the series , no bat control , 21 ugly strikeouts …

There is a similarity between all four teams - they each use multiple means to acquire players and are strong at developing those players. The Dodgers have a very good scouting and development system as well as a strong minor league organization. They would undoubtedly be a winning club under any system.

When you suggest changing the system, are you looking to limit player salaries? I have no problem with that in the big picture but would suggest it be for all including the owners, if that is the direction. No team puts on a schedule of games without other teams to play. Thus the simplest answer is full revenue sharing of all media and stadium income. The reality will be something else.

Every year as we turn the page from the Wild Card series to the divisional round, I get to thinking about the rest vs rust debate - how valuable is the bye in baseball relative to the challenge of picking up competitive games after a weeklong break against teams that have continued playing in games that count?

This is our fifth season under the current postseason format.  So far, teams that get a bye are 7-1 in the divisional round in the American League, but they're only 2-6 in the National League (the NL East champ is 0-4; maybe the Braves are playing some 3D chess in avoiding the bye this year)

In conclusion: I have no idea, as usual

It turned out to be a clean sweep for the teams getting the bye in the divisional round.  Score another one for rest over rust

Also, the NL champ is guaranteed to host the World Series

Somehow. Dude literally switched positions without having played it, to help his team.

Betts became a good SS in his 30s. Who does that? That’s what prompted the question. He’s been elite with his bat forever and played all over the field at a good to elite level.

Is Mookie Betts the most underrated HOF player we’re watching right now?

He's the only guy I can think of who has moved up the defensive spectrum as he aged.

He's part of the Dodger paradox: while they're an evil empire-ish villain in their totality, many of the individual pieces - Betts, Freeman, Yamamoto, etc - are incredibly likable

I will never understand Kyle Tucker 4 yr and $240 million.

I also dont understand that balk call.

.900 OPS in the playoffs. Dodgers don’t care how much that costs they want it like everyone else
