I wonder if that means a Rojas start tomorrow?  I could see MLB wanting to set up Ryan vs Ohtani for game 3 as a must-see game.

Ohtani is Must See everywhere, regardless.  Ryan is Must See in Twins territory only, and Who He to the rest of the country.

Ryan is the second-hottest trade discussion for pitchers behind Skubal.  That's what he is to the rest of the country.

EDIT:  I would also add that, for those trade suitors, a Joe Ryan game against the Dodgers could be very important to his potential trade value.  It's still essentially the Dodgers vs the field on who wins the WS.  If you are trading to try to beat the best, you want this start to see how he measures up.

Good game. The Twins played pretty good. Eric Lauer hit the outside of the strike zone in every place possible. Sometimes any ordinary pitcher can have extraordinary command, which make hitting super difficult.

The Dodgers make all the plays and are about as fundamentally sound as any team could be.

Some sweet walk-offs tonight in Chicago on the South Side and in Denver. The Rockies are a pesky bunch.

We will soon see . . I hope nobody thinks we will sweep Colorado like we did Texas

It was the series at Colorado last year that put the final nails in the coffin.

Yeah then the Dodgers Jax-Umpire poopshow series. I vaguely remember the Kirilloff-Umpire series in LA two years before. Last night wasn't awful but style points don't exist.

They lost, so they are scared? Unreal.

They play scared, yes. Are they inherently scared? No. But, they do tend to play tight against certain opponents, notably, the Yankees, Guardians, Dodgers - to name a few. They faced Lauer in April and teed off on him. Last night, they looked absolutely baffled at the plate. Lauer is who he is. So what's the difference? A team that is playing tight and jumping out of their cleats at the first pitch they saw. The data sample isn't small either - wish it was different, but it is what it is.

Maybe Lauer made an adjustment?  That and the team is a little different than when they played Lauer earlier this season.  Plus it sure seemed like the Twins players had no issue with the opener causing him to throw 30+ pitches, they seemed fairly loose against that guy.  Im not saying you are wrong though with those said teams, but I think another way to look at it is that the Twins are just not a good baseball team, and haven't been for quite a long time now, so in a situation like that, they will probably lose to the teams that are usually better than them.   Even when the team had decent seasons they were flawed in numerous ways.  Id say over the last 15 - 20 years or so the Twins have over performed in comparison to what their talent level really indicated where they should be.  They have usually done well in the Central division, but even in the playoffs seasons, the Twins were missing key ingredients to being a real good team.  In the end it usually gets exposed, especially by the good teams.
