twinstalker Verified Member Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 Yawn on Walker, who's maybe baked and costs far too much for them. Twins just got one of those, and you expect another? Also, sunk cost mean it's done and gone. Heiny and Bob Twins Fan Since 61 1 1

However, I disagree with the feeling from the article that dumping Correa was a bad idea. The Twins were losing with him; why not unload most of his boat anchor salary? Unfortunately, the Twins have chosen not to reinvest, but I still don't feel Correa was going to help the Twins win. Bingo. Correa was an albatross contract but there’s a stubborn contingent that could not accept that. He was not worth the salary by any stretch of the imagination. I’m glad the Twins unloaded him. I have no idea what you were quoting from me 4 months ago lol. Correa though seemed to be slowing immensely. Got a bit of a jolt in Houston. TopGunn#22 1

I just wonder...if Walker said no once, wouldn't he probably say it twice? The quote was that HOUSTON had declined, not Walker. AND, IF it WAS Walker, the prospect of riding the pine can be motivating. the_brute_squad 1

Heiny Verified Member Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 So, there seems to be a problem with the Twins drafting and developing 1st basemen. I really have no problem with them continuously drafting the best athletes with good bats, which is usually shortstops, but we cannot play 7 shortstops at a time. So, how about moving some of these guys to 1b while still in the lower minors? Good prospects could be 6' 6" Quentin Young, 6' 6" Brandon Winokur, 6' 1" Billy Amick. Develop them in the minors. They are already good athletes with power potential, with several other young guys blocking their path to the show. If I'm one of those guys, I'd be begging for the oppurtunity. Am I crazy? Stupid? It just seems to make sense to me. P.S. And if it really is K. Culpepper as the future at SS, then maybe Marek Houston at 6' 3" could be added to the list.
