Not disagreeing with your assessment of Falvey, but the manager/coach should know more. GM/PresOfBaseballeOperations is a different job. And if you are not actively doing "it" your skills at "it" will diminish. Again, I have no opinion at this point aside from the Hamm's Bear, on who the next manager should be other than he better not screw up our development of pitchers and better improve out hitting and defense. Unfortunately, still the color commentator David HK 1
David HK Verified Member Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 The biggest problem here is that Falvey is the one picking the next Mgr. He should have already been gone. Or maybe I'm a little butt-hurt because I just watched Louis Varland relieve Toronto's struggling starter in a Game 7, and slam the door on the M's. No way that guy should be a Blue Jay. Thanks, Derek. Side note- just after Louis gets the job done, here comes the godforsaken mlb green thing. Insult to injury. **Edit: OK, spoke too soon. Louie then gave up a dinger to Raliegh.... Uff da, never mind.

Chembry Verified Member Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 MLBTR reported, by way of LaVelle, that the Twins are interested in Scott Servais. Off topic but also interesting…MLBTR also reported that Pujols and Hunter are out of consideration for the Angels position.

The Red Pepper was, not sure if it still is, the place to go after a night out for Grinders. Sad that Whitey's Wonderbar, I know it relocated, is no longer there. CRF Verified Member Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Looks like we can cross one name off the list...it appears Kurt Suzuki is going to be the Angel's new manager.
EGFTShaw Verified Member Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 With the Angels poised to bring in a Suzuki the Twins quickly pivoted to acquire a Yamaha.

Took my kids to the Red Pepper a few years back, its still good, but something is different, not really sure what it was, but it wasn't quite the same as I remember. Looked the same though, ha ha. The flood changed a lot of things. EGFTShaw 1
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 Looks like the Giants are hiring Tennessee Vols head coach Tony Vitello. Interesting choice. I particularly like this recent quote from him: "I think everyone is suffering the consequences all the way up to the big leagues where guys are super skilled, but there’s less development, less coaching, less accountability and therefore less understanding of how to actually play the game to win. And it starts all the way, trickle-down effect.” Couldn't agree more. Playing the game of baseball needs to become an important point of emphasis again. We'll see how it goes. I know there's been some speculation that it could be a sign that teams are behaving differently with the impending lockout, but the Giants apparently inked their guy to a three year deal with an additional year as a vesting option. So for now, I'd chalk it up to Arte Moreno being Arte Moreno ashbury 1
