They can't possibly with a straight face hire Toby G right????   The Saints had a worse record than the Twins did.......SMH

I don't think the role of minor league managers is necessarily to win the most games. They are there to try to develop the talent they have. One could argue that if they had a worse record than the Twins that Toby didn't do a very good job of developing talent.

I don't think that bringing in a guy who has never managed or played in the major leagues is the way to go. Tingler does have major league experience as a manager if they want to stay in the organization.

Any bets whether Rocco ends up sitting next to Cory Provus as the color guy?

I don't think they allow you to chew seeds and spit in the booth. They are Roccos two greatest talents.

I don't see how this improves the Twins in the long run as long as the same front office who hired him and dictated to the manager how to use the bullpen, how to construct a lineup, how to position players on the field, and gave him the roster is going to hire the next manager and be their boss. I've always thought that if Rocco goes, the whole front office should go, too.

There should be no talk of hiring existing managers away from their current jobs.

That's not happening.

Hinch & Snitker could both be let go.

The myth that any billionaire is spending their own money on the benevolence of the community for a winning team is pretty much pie in the sky thinking.  The Mets make 1/3 the money the Yankees do. If Cohen can make the Mets as relevant to New York as the Yankees and make that kind of money he will have doubled his investment.  The Twins are not in the Yankees or Mets city or circumstances. San Diego spent to build a contender and it worked. The fans came out, it is the only pro game in town.  When the owner died and the tv contract did, they retrenched some of the spending.  The fans still came out. That is not the Twins’ situation nor fan base.

I wasn't being serious, thats why I put the Ha ha at the end.  Mets and Yankees are both on a different stratosphere compared to the Twins.  But interestingly enough the Padres have some similarities.  But nonetheless the Pohlads are not good for baseball in Minnesota.

Happy Trails, Rocco.

This should have happened after the 2024 season. Some good memories from Rocco's tenure most notably the Bomba season in 2019 and the playoff win against Toronto in 2023. And there's always going to be the game of, what if, had the Pohlad's not gone cheap in the subsequent off-season.

And while Rocco should have been gone last year, the reality is, the Twins' problems go far deeper and a new manager isn't going to move that needle all that much.

What's the deal with Tingler? IIRC, he lost the Padres' clubhouse in a big way and that's why he got fired.
