bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Figured we might as well have a megathread for the trade deadline. I am currently hoping from 4 different stories. The market is starting to move. Both Roger brothers have been traded today. Rumors that Duran trade is being completed. Jax and Castro maybe Bader all pulled mid inning in the 9th.
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 The Mets gave Tidwell #10 prospect and Gilbert #12 prospect for Tyler Rogers. That is a large amount for just a 1/2 year of Rogers. DJL44 1
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Mariners appear to be the leaders to get Duran. Wonder what that trade would look like.

Given what the Giants just got for 2 months of Tyler Rogers, who knows what Duran or even Jax will fetch in a trade. bunsen82 1
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Ferguson to the Mariners. Does this take them out of the Duran Sweepstakes or is this on top?
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Jeter Martinez for Ferguson. Thats a little more reasonable trade. Martinez looks like a solid prospect,

But I'm not trading Duran unless it's something obviously too good to pass up. I Miss The Lakes 1

bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Kepler scratched in Philly.

Not really interested in trading controllable players for multiple years unless its too good to pass up. bunsen82 1

bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 The Kepler scratch is odd. Wonder if there is any possibilities he could come back for the remainder of the year if it meant maximum return in a trade from Phillies.
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Duran to Dodgers maybe???? Nothing yet to confirm.
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Nix the previous post I am not seeing any confirmation. The rumor was for 2 top 10 Dodger prospects. No names.
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 Seeing Mariners as still the leaders for Duran. Going to be off for a couple hours. See if anything happens.

notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Well, they saved money anyway. Great trade, guys!
GeorgeLooney Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 So much for getting Painter…..obviously nobody knows how these guys will pan out but it sure looks like we didn’t get as much as we were expecting.
I Miss The Lakes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 So after that Duran trade, is the 'higher up' directive just "Dump them all, returns are only a unexpected bonus for our unwanted [$$] talent?"
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Quote Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune echoed Feinsand’s statement, writing that the Twins have not “ruled out” trading Jax, but their asking price could now be astronomical – perhaps too high for anyone to meet. I guess the logic is that Falvey thinks the team can still compete in 2026 without Duran, but moving Jax would be too much... yeah, I dunno about that. And given Jax's tendency to give up a lot of runs this year despite his great peripherals, it seems like he might stay put. We'll find out if he can handle being the closer or not.
