Might be time for the Bull Durham rainout.

They're coming up with new ways to lose every game, it's sort of remarkable. 2 HBP in the 9th? really?

Hitting into the double play with the bases loaded was the real crusher: Castillo was really struggling to hit his spots and find the zone that inning and they could have sent him to the showers right there.

My head exploded when Paddack overthrew 1B on a simple fielding play by about 6 feet; guess he thought about it before throwing and we know that thinking can only hurt the ballclub. Props to Clemens for hustling to get in position to back it up, though.

Interviewed, Paddack said Lee called him off a play but he froze mid fielding. Was it this play?

Twins are a total train wreck right now. It requires effort to lose NINE straight 1-run games. But they are also losing blowouts. The team is dysfunctional. (The Orioles are the same.  Going nowhere) the pitching staff collectively has left the building. No one is reliable. Season is simply sliding into oblivion.

Could have been; it certainly looked like Lee wanted it and was close enough to make the play. But I'd say Paddack had more of a brain freeze than an actual freeze because he didn't really stop and fielded the ball cleanly. It would have been better if he'd left it to Lee, who was moving towards 1B, rather than away, which Paddack was. But he still had plenty of time to set and throw and just air-mailed it. (really was a nice fundamental play by a hustling Clemens to back up 1B there and save a run)

How does your closer hit 2 batters in the 9th,,,,

Exactly. Duran had no idea where those pitches were going. When you beat yourself with your closer on the mound . . . not good.

I thought when they signed him, ok, 2 weeks. But watching him play I hope the Twins hang on to him.

Where is that outstanding SP?  The young pitchers are struggling but the Vets are not leading by example.

They currently have one pitcher (Joe Ryan) who deserves to pitch in a playoff series.

There are no more “crushing” losses to be had this season. That ship has sailed. None of them matter…nor do the wins. The rest of the season consists of incidental losses, and the occasional incidental win. Solidly bad, and rudderless.

This has to be the biggest clown show in the MLB. Next they will sell the team and take years to finalize the sale like the Timberwolves. It is a can't waste your time to watch anymore.
