I mean, we just saw it on the previous play. Larnach hits a squib, and the only play is the force at second base. So you let the runner trot down to second base and eliminate the force play? I guess that’s a conversation for another time another place That's not really new age analytics thing. Defensive indifference bases like that have long been a thing.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Sacrifice Fly... Hope we can answer when we get a chance.
exeoud Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 They're struggling against the 100 loss Marlins, they are not sweeping the Orioles even if they pull this one out.
RpR Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Should have seen if Duran could go 3.

I guess that’s a conversation for another time another place I don't hate it from a defensive standpoint because his run means nothing. But then, I'd go with walking Lewis to load the bases and have the force for just the reason you mentioned with the Larnach squibber. Hosken Bombo Disco 1

Heck, bring back Jay Jackson and Cole Irvin. SMH If Duran can ONLY pitch in the 9th inning with a lead, than that's an extremely inefficient use of your bullpen. You're basically leaving yourself short handed in half of the games. Sorry for the NFL comparison, but it's like the Vikings letting their best defensive player leave (Danielle Hunter) because he was bad in pass coverage. They were able replace him with multiple players who were more versatile, and they're way better for it. Hosken Bombo Disco, NYCTK, USAFChief and 1 other 3 1

Yeah, even if the O's are resting guys, the Twins still would lose a pivotal game to them.

OvertheHill Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Via the broadcast it’s like you could hear a pin drop at the stadium. Other than the drunk guy bellowing last inning. Not much energy there.

insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 If Twins get out of this down by just one...first thing I do is pinch run for Lewis, who can't run a lick. Then I do whatever I have to do to get the runner to 3rd. Then you've got 2 shots at tying it up and go from there. But you must manufacture that run, even if it means bunting the first guy (which unfortunately is our best run producer...but still you have to get that runner to 3rd

You don't just fill in that position with multiple bodies. People who say that anyone can pitch the 9th.....I guarantee those people have never pitched the 9th. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
