Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 OK, I'm following gameday remotely. Was that a good throw, or a poor decision to send Doumit home (or both)? It was a great throw... That's the only way he got out... Doumit didn't slide and I assume that he didn't know that he had to. He looked over at Morneau after he collided with the catcher... I assume he was thinking where were you... Its the on deck hitters responsibility to head toward the plate to let the runner know if he should slide or not at home.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 *cringe* Yeah I know... Not everything that comes out of my head is Grade A.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I hope Morneau isn't letting himself get distracted (lack of HRs, no contract talks, etc).
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I think the decision to send him home was OK... It took a fantastic throw... Viciedo had to range to his left to get the ball and he was in deep left.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Yeah I know... Not everything that comes out of my head is Grade A. That's OK. Add a little cheese, a little butter, it should cook up just fine.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 How big is that caught stealing now?
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 The outfielder was relatively deep in the outfield when he fielded the ball and made a great throw. I think it was a bad decision to send Doumit anyway because there were no outs and Doumit isn't known for his speed. If there were one or two outs, I would have liked the decision more.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I don't know how accurate the pitchtrak on Gameday is, but each of those first 3 balls to Dunn looked to be in the zone - and all were called balls. No low strikes today?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Well we had our chances to get out of this inning.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Escobar made a nice play to prevent the run... Just Couldnt finish it. Plouffe moved his feet... Set his feet and air mailed it anyway. Errors happen but at least it wasn't because they were playing lazy baseball.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Unless you pull a hammy rounding third, you never make the first out at home.... ever. You only send a runner home with no outs if there is no chance of a close play.

Gernzy Verified Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 You have to love all the HRs we're hitting at home lately

You must consider the possibility that I'm simply more aggressive than your pansy type baseball. :s-instagib:

TwinVike61 Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Ok, if someone missed following this game and you told them the Twins hit 4 home runs how many would guess that none of came from our power hitters (Doumit, Willingham, Morneau or Plouffe)?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Target Field is a bandbox. Is it safe to say the cement has finally settled?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Escobar has to keep up with Morneau in the dinger department.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Is there a stat for most solo home runs by a team?
