You haven't been insisting for weeks there's nothing to multiple reports from multiple reporters that the Twins won't take on any money?

No, but I have been on the very top of my pulpit calling out crappy reporting.  The reporting was absolutely unacceptable.  It wasn't until Dan Hayes a couple days ago that someone actually indicated they had asked someone a simple question.

Meanwhile, I've made a quick list of pitchers who were traded that make less money (AAV) than our new hero.  Some are not fits, some are.  They were all obviously available, and for less money than our new friend.  Several really nice names were just a touch higher priced but still under a million of difference.  I'm lazy and the list is long.

Trevor Rogers

Enyel De Los Santos

Tanner Banks

Dylan Floro

AJ Puk (as you astutely call out in the game thread)

Nate Pearson

Bryan Koeing

JT Chargios

Huascar Brasoban

Tyler Zuber

Lucas Erceg

Mike Baumann

Mark Lieter Jr

Josh Walker

Quinn Preister

Jalen Beeks

Names that are just a few pennies higher

Hunter Harvey

Lucas Sims

Caleb Ferguson

Andrew Chafin (kinda expensive)

Seranthony Domingez

There is another 15 names that make real reliever money, but still only a couple mill for the rest of the season.  Even the most curmudgeonly reports had them able to spend a couple mill.  Even if a couple mill was a stretch, they can offset it easily somewhere else.

No sir, this wasn't about money.  They got their guy, for better or worse.  There were at least 2 dozen relievers moved, plus probably more available, that fit under the dollar value of what they actually did.  Question the baseball moves all you want, I know I am, but this isn't about money.

Our guys have a plan, and it ain't your plan.  You don't have to like it.

Weird that it hasn't been about money for three different GMs....

This kinda crap will get real old, real quick.

Go echo chamber elsewhere.

Aren't you the guy who's been echoing the Pohlad company line for the last month?  Go pocket protect elsewhere, the Pohlads have been pulling this crap for decades and most of us are exhausted by it.

Not hardly, I've been plenty harsh where it's deserved.  Feel free to take this level of discourse to the Reddits where it belongs.

If you'd like to discuss on topic, you know where to find me.

Falvey has run the team in a fairly consistent pattern. There have been multiple opportunities to make deals and trades have been completed. Always it is within the parameters set by Falvey. They didn't trade Polanco to save money and money is only an issue for the big contracts. Jocko87 is correct.

The frustration directed toward ownership is a little strange if you think about it.

Who were the big misses? I count only a couple myself and both were within reach for both financial reasons and return costs. Nevertheless, Falvey did not see fit to go after either Puk or Arozarena. Many on Twins Daily weren't interested in either player either. I don't have a problem with either those differing opinions or Falvey's decisions, even if I may disagree. Either way, it just comes down to how the Falvey team determine who they want on the roster.

I never knew there was anyone other than Debbie with that last name - Harry.  This was a mini salary dump by the Jays.   Otherwise, it’s pretty dull

There's always dirty harry

If you have an interest, you could always follow the minor league players on milb.com. If you have an MLB.com subscription you can watch any minor league game you wish, time permitting.

That's pretty generous.

Neither of those are actually prospects.

Roster fill.

FYI, Liranzo has been considered a really good prospect.  I think BA ranks/ranked him 3rd in a system most teams can't come close to.  He's young and had a monster year last year in his age 19 season.  Appears to be struggling some this year in more of a pitcher's league, not a shocker given his K rate last year (and this).

Better bet to be roster fill, I agree, but that's with most prospects.  His lottery ticket still has value.  Sweeney's has expired.
