PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I'm not sure, but in the 2nd inning Gladden was already speculating Sanchez wasn't right health-wise. He missed his last start if I'm not mistaken, so I imagine he was either on a pitch count or wasn't looking good. If they said anything on the radio at the time he came out, I missed it.Thanks, Chief.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Two people not going that well--Burton and Flori-moan--however the 5-4-3 DP off the bat of Peralta makes it pretty comfortable.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 "SWMBO". In honor of Glorm, I'm going to try to decipher that. I could go the easy route...She Who Must Be Obeyed...but where's the fun in that? I'm going with Single White Male Boyfriend, Oscar. Sexy WomanMakesBitterOlives
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Plouffe having himself a decent game. "Decent". Give the Twins credit for getting him in the lineup on his birthday. (He hit 2 HRs last year on birthday #26.) Welcome back Plouffie- OPS now back over .800.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 At long last, the Twins have found their new leadoff man...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 At long last, the Twins have found their new leadoff man... It seems to work if Gardy is attacked for putting him there.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I wish I could see this on TV. Me, too, dammit. So few wins, you'd think they'd let us watch just for that reason.

Welcome back Plouffie- OPS now back over .800. Yeah, I was being sarcastic. He's obviously doing better than "decent".
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 SWMBO is summoning me to leave. Leave my mother out of this. Thanks.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Yeah, I was being sarcastic. He's obviously doing better than "decent". I think he's definitely proved he's fully healthy tonight, at the plate and in the field. Man, would it be something if this was the type of showing that could be counted on consistently from Plouffie.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Nice clean outing for Perk. Not to be sniffed at.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 And Clete says, How Do You Like Me Now? I'm still not buying any, but I'm not selling either. If they are allowed to use bats and swing them... Anything can happen.

Yeah, it'd be great if he could go 3-3 with a walk, 3 RBI, and 7 total bases every night.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Yeah, it'd be great if he could go 3-3 with a walk, 3 RBI, and 7 total bases every night. He would get a rather large contract
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Yeah, it'd be great if he could go 3-3 with a walk, 3 RBI, and 7 total bases every night. Is that what I said? Why would you choose to pick a silly quibbling quarrel on a great night for the Twins and Plouffe, like tonight? Of course he won't do this every night, just more consistent production in the field and at the plate and a .800+OPS over 162 games, then we'd really have something here over the longer term. It's time for guys to step up on this team.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I meant to say earlier, Bri, that if you got 7% of Mauer's contract, and 15% of his endorsements, and all you got is a Dodge Dart....you should have shopped around at different dealers. Maybe even ventured out of state.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Its the game thread. You just roll with things and see where they end up. Tonight was the best performance I've witnessed in person by the club this year. No need for nitpicking on the few-and-far-between nights like this.

Now THAT would be something I'd pay to see. Is there a mailorder website, or do those have to be purchased in person?

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It's possible you overreacted. In which case, my apologies. It's possible on my end, it's also possible you overstated your case. Apologies accepted. Either way, a fun game all around tonight, actually a little life in the old ballclub after all. Plouffe needs to establish whether he wants to be part of leading this team out of their morass or looking for opportunities elsewhere, along with a few other underperformers on this team. As of tonight, Plouffe is the only guy besides Mauer with an OPS over .800, he and Arcia have the chance to take over some of the hitting leadership on this club, as some of the other "safe" veterans continue to flounder.
