Is the Chief just crabby that the game was blacked out in Tuscon? Hey Chief, I got to watch the game live and in person tonight, 72 degree gametime temperature. I'll take that over 111 in your godforsaken desert anytime...

It's possible on my end, it's also possible you overstated your case. Apologies accepted. Either way, a fun game all around tonight, actually a little life in the old ballclub after all. Plouffe needs to establish whether he wants to be part of leading this team out of their morass or looking for opportunities elsewhere, along with a few other underperformers on this team. As of tonight, Plouffe is the only guy besides Mauer with an OPS over .800, he and Arcia have the chance to take over some of the hitting leadership on this club, as some of the other "safe" veterans continue to flounder.

I'm a big Plouffe supporter, by the way. Had long and heated discussions on BYTO about why Plouffe might be able to move to 2nd or 3rd because he played SS in the minors for years, which many there scoffed at. I still think that, and hope he continues to solidify the position, at least until/if Sano gets here.

Ok... Some tips... When you light the fuse... It expires at an unpredictable rate. Some Times too fast and sometimes too slow. Don't worry about it tho... If it goes off before you release it... All it does is turn your face sooty.

Are you sure? The "cautions and warnings" in the directions said "may cause sooty face followed by crumpling into a million little pieces, which will be suspended in midair for a second or two, and then fall into a neat little pile. Pile will reassemble itself for next scene."

Since there doesn't appear to be any chance for a Jason Barlett-, or even Nick Punto- level SS coming up in the organization any time soon, I hold out some hope for my fully-acknowledged and nearly-impossible dream that Plouffe could channel his inner JJ Hardy at SS and somehow figure out a way to stay with the club as the Super-Utility guy, playing a little infield, outfield and DH, keeping a live and productive bat in the lineup on the off-days for whomever the SS, 2B and OFers happen to end up being. If he could play 50 games or so platooning competently at SS primarily against lefties and get 400-500 bats wherever he plays on the field and produces close to .800 OPS at the plate, it would be a huge additional asset, he undoubtedly will never get the big contracts that some of the up-and-comers will end up commanding- so he could add real value, unlike the other usual suspects that usually populate this Twins roster year after year.
