The good news of Lee's success will become bad news for Farmer's roster spot once Lewis is healthy.

I believe FO will make a minor trade for pitching depth. Oakland or Miami would be  good trade partners.

It's a curious move to call up Wallner. Not saying he hasn't earned it, but he's not the type of AAAA depth guy the Twins would generally add for a handful of days. I do think Larnach is probably on the edge now.

Larnach's last 40 G = .211/.269/.383 OPS .652, 7.6%BB, 20.0% K wRC+ 84
Exit Velocity 90.9mph (89.5mph MLB median, 71%)
Barrel Rate 9.5% (8.7% MLB median, 57%)
Hard Hit 39.0% (41.2% median, 41%)
Those percentiles are compared against 143 MLB qualified hitters.

They needed a corner OF and Wallner fits the description. They can platoon him with Castro and Margot.

Larnach looks pretty average, which is not a bad thing at all. Not sure where to look up Kepler's numbers over the same stretch but he didn't have a good June.

The Twins have too many position players (they have 4 guys who could start at 3B for most teams) and not enough pitching. A trade should happen.

This was a big win for Ryan, Congratulations!

A big day for Lee. Congratulations on your 1st HR!

A very big day for Miranda. Congratulations on your record!

It's nice to see a player tie or break a record  in baseball  ...

I'm all for the positive records being broken , not the record we broke last year with the strikeouts  ...

I'm more than a little surprised that Walt Dropo's OPS of .757 was exactly average for his time period.  His numbers do look a lot like what we've gotten from Miranda so far.

Both Margot and Farmer have more PAs vs RH pitching than LH.

And in Farmer's case, he can't hit either....sub .600 OPS vs both handed pitchers.

I'd dump Margot in a second, but at least he can still provide a little offense against LH pitching. Of course, Rocco misuses him, so even that singular skill gets watered down.

But I doubt Julien is less useful than Farmer.

Through Wednesday the 3rd…..Margot at .899 OPS from start of June…….not a terrible 2nd half of May. So, a terrible first 6 weeks and an above average last 7 weeks.

Farmer is certainly on the edge but with a guy like Lewis in the infield mix, they’ll keep Farmer as long as possible to ensure depth.

Correa’s injury - Wallner’s complete ineffectiveness - Larnach’s injury - Kepler’s injury - Kirilloff’s injury - Julien’s ineffectiveness - Buxton’s injury ………,the compiling of these details are what forced Margot & Farmer into the line-up when other LH bats were unavailable or guys (CC&Buck) that hit v. pitchers from both sides were unavailable.

It’s not Rocco saying to himself, “screw it, I’m going off the board and want to irritate the fans & start Farmer and Margot v. RH pitching”……..somebody has to play when there are limited options.

Those that have to play when you have limited options are the players you staff your roster with.

Injuries and ineffectiveness occur every year.

75% of pitching being right handed occurs every year.

Margot and Farmer were always going to be forced into the lineup... it was a certainty the very second they were rostered on the 26 man because injuries and ineffectiveness occur every year.

They were rostered.

Who forced Margot into today's game?
