White Sox are a mess. Dirty, stinky socks. To put it lightly.

At 15-48, they are by far the worst team in MLB, and on Thursday night it was announced that they are “actively seeking packages” for their superstar center fielder Luis Robert Jr., per MLB insider Jon Heyman.

Normally these kinds of trades are not made between division rivals...but are they a special case and in need of a major overhaul?

In about 1500 ABs, Robert is hitting .274 with 81 HR (about 18.4 ABs/HR). He also has good speed, with 49 SBs in that span, with an OPS of .822.

He is also injury prone. Would it be worth going after him? Or is this Byron Buxton part II and not worth the risk?

His contract is reasonable the next 2 years, with 2 club options afterwards. We have the pipeline to do it. Thoughts?

The White Sox are asking for more than Soto brought in last year. They're nuts, and they've been nuts all year. Something like Ober + Varland + 1 top (1-5), +1 (5 - 10).

Luis Robert, Jr. is an solid, but not above average, center fielder on a pretty sizeable contract. He's under contract for the same amount as Byron Buxton next year at $15MM, and his $20MM club options for 2026-2027 aren't worth much given Robert's true performance in the 3 prior years (3 WAR average).

I'd rather the Twins not trade the White Sox a new farm system for a guy who's kind of a mirror of Buxton (without the elite defense)

Robert has never taken off like he was projected to do.  One the injuries and two I think he got stuck on a team with terrible culture.  Maybe a new place would help, but I would not drop major prospects for him.

Go for Roberts. Paired with Buxton. When one comes off the IL the other will be ready to go on. Give up the farm to get him. Outstanding idea. I'm all in.

FYI - This quote is old. They are now 21-58.

Much appreciated.

I've been on disability and I'm a little behind.

The White Sox should be looking for good young player with a good attitude who could turn around their toxic clubhouse culture in a very short time -- The White Sox should ask the Twins for Royce Lewis!

If he didn't have injury issues, I would be all about adding him to the team.  But with the injury concerns, his extremely poor season and if it's true that the Chi Sox are looking for an insane return, it's a sure no go.  One of my close friends is an M's fan, and he has been telling me since January he will be a Mariner this year.  We will see what happens.
