SWR should of been aloud to get the 3rd out after pitching that well.It would of been a confidence builder to get the win.And Abrams is in a slump right now,let him pitch.As far as the rest of the team goes 2 solo homeruns and a late game double and single doesn't mean the team is back.

I think our top 4 starters can have that level of trust.  Not for SWR and not when they have an off day following.

Letting SWR get one more out is how you build his confidence. Unless Abrams was hitting SWR hard in previous AB or some other indicator that disaster was imminent. The automatic decision based on some standard data is what frustrates pitchers. Remember Sonny Gray complaints? It’s frustrating as a fan to watch. I think the best managers are the ones that understand how to use data but also know that decisions have to accommodate players and game situations. That’s not Rocco.

WPA gives credit for the game saving diving play to the pitcher.

I agree with this a majority of the time and feel it is a huge reason Sonny didn't resign along with the $$$.   I am ok with yesterday as an off day allowed full use of the BP and a win was needed.    Had he left him in and Abrams unloads - would the questions be "why was SWR left in"   I think so.
