Was busy with a party, but wow! Only had to move up to #10 to get McCarthy, and then another aggressive move to land Turner. And in the top 20 picks only the Vikings have moved up? Twice?! Weird.

The Penix to Atlanta pick blew my mind... never in a million years would I have predicted that. Makes zero sense, Penix can replace Cousins in 2026 when he's 26?! What?!

And only one year to decide if they want to pick up his fifth year option!

A WR.

There are a ton this year. Could be some really good looking ones sitting there.

Interior OL is now my biggest complaint though, so I'm fairly biased. Then DL.

Oh, I agree....I would have been happy with IOL or DT with their second pick (and I think my guys will be there, but Turner might be elite).

I've ripped Adofo-Mensah for awhile now, but that Turner trade was awesome. All those defensive guys I wanted at 23 would have been gone. I saw Zer'han Newton and Darius Robinson in this area in some drafts, but they weren't near as exciting as that Murphy, Turner, Verse, Latu group that already went.

I didn't know they only dropped one spot. Great trade to move up a round....

Fifth year option is a big bonus for sure.

So quick thoughts about the Central who I thought all had a good night.

1) Bears did really good. Williams might be a little overrated but Odunze is a great WR and now they have a lot of weapons to go with a pretty good defense.

2) I don't like that Detroit got Arnold. He was the best corner in the draft and falls to them late. Crazy. That defense still has holes but that's a really good player.

3) Packers got a good tackle, solid boring pick that will help.

4) Vikes got the QB KOC can work with and arguably the best defensive player going into the draft, all without giving up next years first. Pretty good day.

Is there a position in sports where age matters less? But then again the contact is the problem.

Hold up, is Brandon Beane actually Rick Speilman in disguise?

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/brandon-beane-on-trade-with-chiefs-didnt-matter-to-us-who-they-were-picking

Buffalo picked up a third-round pick on Friday in the Chiefs deal and the Bills then traded out of the first round altogether while adding a fifth-rounder from the Panthers, which Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said was more significant to the team than anything the Chiefs were planning at No. 28.

“I could see them taking a receiver but you don’t truly know. . . . But where they were moving from, I don’t think it mattered to us who they were picking,” Beane said, via Matt Parrino of NewYorkUpstate.com. “Now we’ve got the two 2s, a 3, a 4 and four 5s. I think that gives us a chance to fill some roles or use ammo to move around again, depending on how the board falls.”

Holy cow, four 5s?!?!? One of them might be an average player!!!! But having tons of draft picks, even in the late rounds, is super fun!!!

Is there a player you'd deal next year's first for? Like, next year's first for a pick today and a mid round pick next year? I'd consider:

Powers-Johnson (and deal Bradbury, or just put PJ at OG)
DeJean
Kool-Aid (he worries me a bit more then DeJean)

I was wondering about that. Some of the value charts suggest they could get a top pick in the second and possibly a low third rounder or high fourth rounder this year as well for next year's #1. Not sure if the draft charts i looked at are accurate to what the Vikes or others actually use.

That said, I'd probably try to do that to get one of DL Newton, CB McKistry, or IOL Powers-Johnson.

If they could get one of those players and a 3rd, I do that all day......Sure, you MIGHT stink, but they didn't stink last year with no QB for 2/3 of the year.......

I'd trade Bradbury, but if teams value him like I do, you wouldn't get much for him.

I suggested earlier that with all the pass rushers this team brought in in free agency and now with Turner in the mix, I don't think this team is going to be running too many defensive sets with two middle LBs. I think Ivan Pace's usage is going to dramatically shrink so I'd be willing to move him.

I've suggested moving Pace on a football forum....you'd think I suggested trading god. The dude only plays half the snaps here, get a guy that plays every snap for him.....

I'm dealing Bradbury for a 4th next year, give or take. I was HIGH on him when drafted, but he's not IT.

It would have made a modicum of sense to draft a QB that needed development time (Maye or McCarthy), but Penix is not that guy. He should be ready to start early in 2024 but now it's going to be 2026 at soonest.

Age does matter less, but his body has endured 2 ACL tears to the same knee and a torn labrum. Maye and McCarthy have no injury histories and are likely to last longer in the league.

There are things to like about Penix and that's why I had him mocked to the Raiders at #13, but that was to immediately battle Minshew for the starting job. The Falcons passed up the best defensive player in the draft or even moving down 4-6 spots and STILL landing the best defensive player in the draft and instead are now paying something like $53M a year on their QB room without having a surefire top 5 QB on the roster. And their edge room is pretty bad and they really could have used Latu/Verse/Turner. This is beyond baffling.

Bears and Lions made very smart moves, I have to give them credit. Caleb Williams is walking into a good environment and the Lions attacked their biggest weakness (CB). The Packers pick is fine, but they had a 7th rounder playing good enough at LT so I thought they'd go DeJean or Barton.

The fans overrate him, but what are you getting in return for a matchup-centric ILB and how are you replacing him? I see no reason to get rid of one of Flores' favorite chess pieces.

Not sure you'd get even that for Bradbury (Ezra Cleveland only got us a 6th and he's considerably better)... and I'd love to do it but LG is a bigger problem. My guess is they move on from Bradbury in 2025.

They have three picks next year, likely four or five, but only one in the first two days. That's a lot of free agents y'all think they'll sign next year....I don't think they trade either of them, but pace is a full time starter on other rosters.... Who run different defenses.
