White Sox fire Williams and Hahn, Hire Dayton Moore and add LaRussa as a consultant

I was slightly concerned they would hire someone externally who would turn around the franchise. Instead, they’re promoting their Player Development person, who has been in the role for 7 years. And Dayton Moore looks like a guy who needs to call IT to open an excel file on his computer.

Also, Tony LaRussa is back as a consultant for the White Sox! No need to worry about them for the next 5 years.

It really doesn't make much sense to promote from within when you've had the level of disfunction the White Sox have had.

That said, I'll gladly let them do it without complaint.

Moore was GM of the Royals from ‘06 to ‘22, including 2014, 2015 when they won the World Series, 4 seasons above .500 in 16 seasons as GM.

They just can't help themselves, it's hilarious.

It’s pretty painful.  Living here, I hear the Sox fans gnash their teeth about Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn all the time.  Unfortunately, from a management standpoint, the Sox have nowhere to go but up, so that puts another team potentially in play in the division race in the long run.

I think the Twins are safe from any sort of competency rising up out of Chicago as long as Reinsdorf owns the team.
