Dream on, my friend.  I doubt the information exists that will make you feel better, is explainable, or guides you in buying a ticket.  The information they would share would be just that much more inscrutable.

I'll tell you how I feel, thankyouverymuch 🙂

Maybe the Twins should starting talk about all player injuries the way they talk about Buxton's injury?

If Gallo's OPS is satisfactory, but most of us see his performance as unsatisfactory, does that mean that we're wrong or is it possible that OPS is not a perfect measure of a better's value?

Yes

Ok, I'll try again, a little bit more kindly.

Here are some valid uses of that information: I would feel better; I would explain it so my kid understands; I would think about going to a game when Buxton is back in the field, and so on

I believe it was Copernicus who demonstrated that the universe does not revolve around any of us.

Am I the only one who thought the MVP version of Buxton was probably a mirage to begin with?

Like the injuries obviously impacted his play, but also saved him from the prolonged slumps hallmarking his career when healthy.

I'm a pessimist I guess. I thought the same thing with Kepler and Miranda who were ok hitters who suddenly got good. Same with Rolls Royce who wasn't even the hitter Kep and Miranda were.

Buxton's contact is favorable when he's good. What would another team give for him at this point? Not saying to trade him, but it's clear we need a center fielder. We need relievers. I'd rather keep Brooks Lee and trade Buxton or Royce for a pile of prospects and shot to make this first place team better.

Yeah, we always said, imagine if we ever got the 90-game MVP Buxton for a full season.

Another way to look at that, is imagine if all these other players who play full seasons, like Judge, Trout, Betts, whoever, could cherry pick their best 90 games, and then we compare with Buxton's best 90 games?

I 100% agree with your first sentence.  He had the one good season where it look like he put it all together followed by a dud last year and a bigger dud this year.

Gotta go on IL until he can play the field.

Put him in CF until/if he needs the IL

When it happened, we all thought the deal the Twins got him to sign was a good one for the team.

Little did we know, huh?

It was, and might still be, a good risk. Sometimes the right thing doesn't work out.
