stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 The Twins are scheduled to play Detroit tonight, but there is an Air Quality Alert. The current air quality in Minneapolis is 131 and the Air Quality Alert is in effect until 6 AM on Friday morning. I don't know what the levels were when games were postponed last week, but these numbers are not conducive to enjoying a baseball game outdoors.
CRF Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Seems to me that it was worse yesterday, than it is so far today. There's a nice breeze blowing right now and it doesn't seem too smokey. It's noticeable, but not real thick yet. I'm south of the cities. I hope they play tonight.

I would say the same thing, a bit NW of the Cities.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Yes, it’s definitely better today than it was yesterday afternoon. That doesn’t mean it’s good for physical exertion, of course.
strumdatjag Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I attended yesterday’s game. The Twins won and it was still misery. Hazy should be left to Hazy IPAs.
chpettit19 Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 According to a Dan Hayes tweet, the AQI was at 178 when the game ended yesterday, and 271 last evening, so 131 is better than yesterday it appears. I don't know what it's expected to be like later today. I was at the game, and I didn't really notice the smoke beyond the visual, but it was still uncomfortable with the heat and humidity.
Blyleven2011 Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I'm at the lake in Northern Minnesota and it is alot better air than the haze we had yesterday , it was thick haze yesterday and very clear here today , wind seems to be out of the east here for now ... Now I don't know if the twins will come to play but they most certainly should take the field ...
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 AQI is in the 70's in the western suburbs as I post this. It seems that the nasty stuff is moving out of the Twin Cities region so there should be no problem with that for tonight.
