IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 In my opinion, this takes a huge step in redeeming the new uniform look. https://uni-watch.com/2023/01/27/surprise-twins-announce-tri-colored-batting-helmet/?fbclid=IwAR09BMAhwb_x4QX_ZSuPF9Tyo67jXWLCPx-Uj3ellUM_4HoHplm3NBEWYjQ&mibextid=Zxz2cZ I’ll miss the Baby Blues, but this takes me back in a good way. Aside: I just realized why the Marlins were such a good destination for Arraez. He probably already had their cap! It’s going to be a long time before the “M” version grows on me.
CRF Verified Member Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 The retro look batting helmet looks pretty good. I can do that. The uni's are ok, but I don't care for the "M" star hat.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Really really dont like the road hat.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Love the new uniforms. Hate the "M" hat. Love the tri-colored batting helmet coming back.. had forgotten all about them. Good move!
Unwinder Verified Member Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I think the tri-colored helmet completely brings together and elevates the white uniform, which I previously thought was the weakest of the new uniforms, with the big red "TWINS" seeming sort of floaty and too big. Would love to see a similar cap as the main cap. I know a lot of people are down on the M but I think the raised M on the matte helmet also looks good, and makes the M look a lot better than it does on the caps.

I suppose the tricolor is acceptable for a helmet but please don't extend it to the caps. For me, there's little to nothing about the '70's that gives me a warm feeling of nostalgia.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 You are forgetting MN legend Jerry Terrell.
August J Gloop Verified Member Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Those batting helmets are magic. LOVEx3. I don't like large white sections on hats (grimy), but I could totally see a version of the home cap that has a red bucket, blue bill and some white blue TC. The M is a little strange, but I wonder if the big issue is that the star is red. If instead the M were red and the star were white it might seem more like the north star it's representing. The actual typography work on the M is pretty cool and not really at all like the Marlins M. Maybe they should have figured out a way to put the M inside the star in some way. or in front of it? I guess I'm not as diametrically opposed to it as others. I bet it also looks better in 3D. But considering the M is the only thing that's getting much traction against the rebrand, they did a good job.
