Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Sorry play in left yet again. Hammer may be better defensively than Arcia.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Ultima... KC and Detroit rained out.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Comedy of errors. Ball to left should have been caught (dare I saw Delmonesque defense), then the Red Wings errr Marlins can only muster three ground balls, Doumit (or is it no-mitt) allows a passed ball but the runner for no apparent reason doesn't score.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 They'll start to fall in Parm.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I don't know who should be this teams designated Starting Short Stop... but... Escobar is hot and he should play while he is hot.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Escobar likes playing baseball. He should play more often.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Ultima... KC and Detroit rained out. Saw that, we can still tie for first with a win. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/nod.gif
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Boy, that Liriano trade last year is looking better all the time.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 What a damn shame we leave Escobar at third there
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 What would I need to do to get her to appear at my office -- after the staff goes home? Wait, you're a TD moderator, aren't you? Help! Entrapment! I want my lawyer!
Alex Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Hicks is looking better, but that pitch was too close to let go.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Hicks is looking better, but that pitch was too close to let go.Looked like a strike.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Boy, that Liriano trade last year is looking better all the time. That Liriano trade was good just to save his salary.
Alex Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Yeah, I didn't catch it on at-bat, but the side angle looked like it came right at the knees at the front of the zone and then dropped.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Remind me- Pelfrey is still in the game why exactly?
MilwaukeeTwins Provisional Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Looked like a strike.I was starting to think Hicks was turning the corner, but the swing on 3-1 was pretty awful. Extremely late on a 3-1 91 mph fastball is pretty brutal.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Remind me- Pelfrey is still in the game why exactly? It starts with bull, and ends with dog.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 It starts with bull, and ends with dog. Bullogni Hot Dog?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 It starts with bull, and ends with dog.Hey, get off of Glunn's squeeze, like Scooby just did. Ok, that was uncalled for, even in a game thread.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 It starts with bull, and ends with dog. I gotta ask... Bulldog? Whenever someone is a fighter... Battles thru the tough times... Stubborn... They are sometimes referred to as a Bulldog. Is this really the nature of a bulldog? I find Bulldogs to be docile and affable. I think Rottweiler or Pitbull is better.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Wait..3-4 for Dozier? I didn't mean just today! I meant since he replaced Hicks! Come on, give me SOME credit. Sorry, I was away for a bit. When I answered, I actually thought it was his first game at leadoff - so many postponements, and the previous game had Carroll leading off. I didn't really mean to be dismissive. But he did well in his other two games. You can find all kinds of situational splits on him here: Brian Dozier 2013 Batting Splits - Baseball-Reference.comBatting first in the lineup, he's got 11 PA in 2 games, yielding 1 walk and 4 hits (all singles), 1strikeout, and scoring 2 runs. Today's first game improves on that a little; let's hope game 2 does likewise.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 While the Correia debate was spirited in its debate... I think we can agree that Gardy left Pelfrey in too long.

I feel like the pitches he's seeing has went up also.
