Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Doubleheaders* are freakin' awesome, especially after too many days with no Twins baseball. *even split DHers.

Strange. Gardenhire and Ryan have both acted quite out of character this season and while they haven't hit on everything (Hicks), at least they're making the team interesting to follow.

I have had the feeling since day 1 that Gardy has either evolved his managing, or been told to evolve his managing. I was never on the "Fire Gardy" bandwagon, far from it. But even I can see he is much better this year.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Flounders: Ha! I'm giving away my age if I say that I think of Fan Mail when I hear that word.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Interesting lineup. Plouffe gets his first time off, "Willie" gets the second game off and Ramirez is the only guy not to get a start in either game. Maybe Wilkin is only on the team to translate. It is nice to have a guy like Willingham on the bench if a big swing is needed to win a game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Ramirez is the only guy not to get a start in either game. Kind of confirms what we knew going into the season, the positions the Twins are overstocked at are the outfield corners and/or first base. It would be natural to swap out Parmelee, so I guess TPTB really want to give him every chance to establish himself.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Alright... Everyone ready? (Crickets SFX)
snepp Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (Crickets SFX) With no TV I've lost 90% of my material.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 With no TV I've lost 90% of my material. Yeah but you can do more with 10% than Spiro Agnew can do with 80%.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 From what I can tell, Pelfrey is struggling to throw strikes.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Did Miami come with a different team for the night game? Or... Did we change pitchers?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Alright... Everyone ready? Question is, is Pelfrey? Some indication of a return of the first-inning blues.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Yeah, Pelfrey's odds of staying in the rotation are getting slimmer by the appearance.
edavis0308 Provisional Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Good God Pelf. Every time I have a chance to watch a game.. In other news..how about that offensive juggernaut A's team?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 From what I can tell, Pelfrey is struggling to throw strikes. Glunn... We Missed you in the first game. Do you have a job or something? I suppose it was too early... Beverly Hills time.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Credit Pelfry to get a DP ground ball to get out the inning, but that was one slooooow turn.... and now this.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Nice visit Rick... Tell him to move it around... Mix it up.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Guh. This is why we can't have nice things.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Glunn... We Missed you in the first game. Do you have a job or something? I suppose it was too early... Beverly Hills time. I have been in meetings for most of the day. And now I am exhausted -- looking forward to going home and taking the dog to pick up dinner. It sounds like the day game was fun -- sorry I missed it.

edavis0308 Provisional Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm lame and don't have internet at my apt. How has Dozier hit since moving to the leadoff spot?
