Strange. Gardenhire and Ryan have both acted quite out of character this season and while they haven't hit on everything (Hicks), at least they're making the team interesting to follow.

I have had the feeling since day 1 that Gardy has either evolved his managing, or been told to evolve his managing. I was never on the "Fire Gardy" bandwagon, far from it. But even I can see he is much better this year.

Interesting lineup. Plouffe gets his first time off, "Willie" gets the second game off and Ramirez is the only guy not to get a start in either game. Maybe Wilkin is only on the team to translate. It is nice to have a guy like Willingham on the bench if a big swing is needed to win a game.

Kind of confirms what we knew going into the season, the positions the Twins are overstocked at are the outfield corners and/or first base.

 

It would be natural to swap out Parmelee, so I guess TPTB really want to give him every chance to establish himself.

I have been in meetings for most of the day. And now I am exhausted -- looking forward to going home and taking the dog to pick up dinner.

 

It sounds like the day game was fun -- sorry I missed it.
