I have to say Hawk was on his best behavior during the game. He did mention once that if the Twins had spent money 10-12 years ago they could have won 3-4 titles (titles? what?). And that, correctly, they are going to have to spend some more to win it again.

 

Just think about all that Beltre talk years ago . . .

Nobody in the AL Central looks poised to set the world on fire here, so hanging around .500 probably means hanging in the division race. The Twins manage to do that, and we're looking at a pretty mediocre baseball team, but a mediocre baseball team that could still be playing meaningful games in August. Not exactly something to aspire to, but after the last 2 years, I'll gladly take it.

 

We shall see. Gotta have a good homestand here, after that it's a 10-game road trip to Detroit, Cleveland and Boston.
