big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Diamond goes 7 w/ 4 earned runs (inc. 3 solo homers). Twins light Floyd the Barber up for a 7-5 win.
Chance Provisional Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Besides 3 homers I agree with you.
Chance Provisional Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I'll say the Twins hit 2 homers. Not sure from who. Arcia 2-3 with a double and a walk.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 The Twins have been undefeated since last Sunday! Let's keep it up!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Alright... My schedule is clear... Weather is OK in Chicago... A couch... A baseball game and I'm making Buffalo Wings for supper after the game. Its gonna be a good day.

My wife is at a book fair all day and the dog is ready to pick up brunch sometime around the third inning.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I am getting the Sox feed and they were talking about being happy that Span and Revere are gone.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Nice first inning by Diamond. He looks relaxed and ready to go all day.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Let's get something off Floyd now.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Great inning by Twins hitters there.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Ok... Let's get something off of Floyd eventually.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I am blaming my dog for last inning.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 They don't do anything until the 7th.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Adam Dunn, now 0 for his last 30 and batting .097. 23 Ks and 3 BBs in 61 ABs. OPS? .367 He makes up for it with his defense, anyway.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 and Diamond's ERA drops from 8.3 to 6 with two scoreless innings. Ah, Spring.

Fatt Crapps Provisional Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 How many times this year has Bert mentioned how starters don't pitch as long into games than he did? It's nauseating.
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Diamond looking very sharp today. Really executing his pitches.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Arcia appears to need some work on laying off the breaking balls in the dirt.
big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Yes, as a DH he is an elite defender. I think he was in consideration for a Gold Glove last year at the DH position. A lot of guys just go through the motions at the position, but Dunn is always alert for foul balls while on the bench. He's on the third year of a 4/$56 million deal.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Hit and run... Good call... Try it agin.

big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 So far this year Hicks is using the bat primarily as a fashion accessory. His OBP is more than 4x his BA. I can't imagine that happens very often once a guy plays more than a few games.

big dog Verified Member Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Bruno is working hard with him. I hope Hicks breaks out of it- it's impressive that he can keep taking walks. I'm sure it's tempting to swing like crazy and hope to at least make contact instead of taking a called strike three.
